The CSIR SO ASO Stage 1 Result 2024 was announced on June 3, 2024, by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). This result is for the Combined Administrative Services Examination – 2023 (CASE) which aimed to fill 444 vacancies for Section Officer (SO) and Assistant Section Officer (ASO) posts.

Out of thousands of candidates who appeared for the exam held from February 5 to 20, 2024, a total of 8880 candidates have been shortlisted for the next phase of the selection process. Candidates can check their results, scorecards, and cut-off marks on the official CSIR website.

Tie-breaking Policy

Here is the tie-breaking policy for the CSIR SO ASO 2024 in a different format:

Candidates with higher marks in the papers used for preparing the merit list are ranked higher.
If there is still a tie, candidates with fewer negative marks in the considered papers are ranked higher.
If the tie persists, older candidates (by date of birth) are given a higher rank.
Candidates who obtained their essential qualification earlier are ranked higher if the tie is not resolved.
If all other criteria fail to break the tie, the alphabetical order of the candidates' first names is used.
