The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (CAIR) in Bengaluru is seeking applications from retired government employees for consultancy positions.

Position Available:

  • The available position is for the role of Consultant.
  • The pay level for the position is equivalent to Level 11 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

Important Dates:

  • Last date for receipt of applications: 10/06/2024
  • Advertisement cutoff date: 21 days from the publication date.

Duration:

  • The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on norms.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Retired employees from Central/State Governments, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, and universities are eligible.
  • Preference will be given to those with prior experience working with DRDO.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • A clean service record is necessary.
  • There should be a gap of at least 15 days between retirement and appointment as a consultant.
  • Applicants must have retired at the prescribed pay level mentioned.

Age Limit:

  • Applicants should not exceed 63 years of age as of the closing date for receipt of applications.

Selection Procedure:

1. Scrutiny of Applications:

  • Applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and comply with the terms of reference specified by DRDO/CAIR.

2. Assessment by Screening Committee:

  • A screening committee will evaluate the suitability of candidates based on their qualifications, experience, and alignment with the requirements outlined in the TOR.
  • Shortlisting will be done keeping in view the eligibility criteria, TOR, and relevant guidelines.

3. Validity of Panel:

  • The panel of shortlisted candidates, along with wait-listed individuals, will remain valid for six months.

4. Issuance of Appointment Offers:

  • DRDO HQ will issue appointment offers to selected candidates upon approval by the competent authority.
  • The offer will contain the terms and conditions of engagement.

5. Submission of Required Documents:

  • Selected candidates must submit the necessary documents, including a letter of consent, contract agreement, non-disclosure agreement, and an undertaking to accept the terms and conditions outlined in the appointment offer.

6. Verification Process:

  • Before the contract agreement is finalized, the employing office will conduct verification of relevant documents, such as the Pension Payment Order (PPO), medical fitness certificate, and police verification.

This selection procedure ensures a transparent and thorough process for the engagement of consultants in DRDO/CAIR, Bengaluru.

Remuneration:

  • Monthly remuneration will be calculated by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at retirement.
  • Pensioners will receive a fixed amount, while non-pensioners will receive Rs. 50,000/-.
  • Conveyance allowance of Rs. 3000/- will be provided for pensioners up to pay level - 11.

Allowances:

  • Consultants will not receive any additional allowances except for TA/DA for official travel.

Working Hours:

  • Consultants will follow the normal working hours of the employing office but may be required to work beyond stipulated hours as needed.

  • Interested candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format along with requisite supporting documents to the designated address or email provided in the advertisement.
  • Applications must reach the authorities before the closing date mentioned, failing which they will be rejected.

Leave and Working Hours:

  • Consultants will be entitled to paid leave at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month of service, with no accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year.
  • Working hours will align with the standard working hours of the employing office, with flexibility as per work exigencies.
