IIESTS Interview Schedule 2024 

The IIESTS Interview Schedule 2024 is set for May 31st, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Seminar Room of the Department of Physics, IIEST Shibpur. They're hiring one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a project on structural evolution and collectivity in 49V and "Mn," sponsored by SERB, Govt. of India.

Applicants need an M.Sc. in Physics with at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA, along with a valid GATE/NET qualification. Experience in Nuclear Physics is preferred. The fellowship includes Rs. 45,880/- for the first 2 years and Rs. 52,080/- for the third year. Candidates under 28 years, with relaxations for certain categories, can apply.

Eligibility Criteria 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree Requirement:

    • Candidates must possess an M.Sc. in Physics with a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Physics from a recognized University or Institute.
  • Minimum Marks/Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):

    • A minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale is required throughout from class X to the qualifying degree.
  • Valid GATE/NET Qualification:

    • Applicants must hold a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or NET (National Eligibility Test) qualification.
  • Requirements for SC/ST Category:

    • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale throughout from class X to the qualifying degree.
    • They should also possess a valid GATE or NET qualification.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Hands-on Experience in Nuclear Physics:

    • Candidates with practical experience in the field of Nuclear Physics will be preferred.
