The India Post Recruitment 2024, under the Ministry of Communications and the Department of Posts, Administration Section, is seeking applications for the position of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade).
Interested and eligible candidates from within the Department of Posts and other Central Government Ministries can apply through the proper channel by forwarding their applications in the prescribed format by the last date of 23rd July 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Possession of a valid Driving License for motor cars.
- Knowledge of motor mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in the vehicle).
- Experience of driving a motor car for at least 3 years.
- Pass in 10th standard.
Age Limit
- Not exceeding 56 years as of the closing date for receipt of applications.
Other Criteria
- Regular Despatch Rider (Group C) and Group C employees in Level-1 in the pay matrix in the Department of Posts.
- Alternatively, officials holding the post of Despatch Rider on a regular basis or regular Group C employees in Level-1 in other Ministries of the Central Government who fulfill the necessary qualifications.
- Armed Forces Personnel due to retire or be transferred to reserve within a year with the requisite experience and qualifications.
Selection Process
- Deputation/Absorption: Selection among regular Despatch Riders (Group C) and Group C employees in Level-1 in the Department of Posts, based on their Driving Test performance to assess competence in driving motor cars.
- Driving Test: Candidates must pass a Driving Test to demonstrate their ability to drive motor cars.
- Review of Applications: Applications will be reviewed to ensure eligibility and qualifications.
- Certification of Vigilance Clearance: Candidates must have no pending or contemplated vigilance cases against them.
- Final Selection: Based on merit and the results of the Driving Test, along with fulfilling all other eligibility criteria.
