Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have passed a diploma examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution.
  • For B.E./B.Tech courses, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the final year of the diploma (40% for reserved categories such as SC/ST and OBC).

Domicile:

  • Candidates should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of seven years from Class 1 to the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates who have not studied for seven years in Karnataka but whose parents are Karnataka domicile holders are also eligible.

Work Experience (for in-service candidates):

  • Candidates seeking admission through the work experience quota must have a minimum of two years of professional work experience in the relevant field after obtaining their diploma.

Age Limit:

  • There is no specific age limit for applying to Karnataka DCET.

Language Proficiency:

  • Candidates must be proficient in Kannada if they belong to the Horanadu and Gadinadu categories. They need to pass the Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.
