Madras University PH.D Admission 2024
The official PDF informs you that the online portal for the Ph.D. program for the July 2024 session will be open on the University website unom.ac.in from June 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024. Candidates who want to apply for the July 2024 session should apply online and also submit a hard copy of the filled-in application form with necessary documents to the University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, or Research Institutions where they plan to do their research.
The application fee is Rs. 1500/- plus 18% GST (Rs. 1,770/-) to be paid online. Only Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates from Tamil Nadu are exempt from the application fee, and they must send proof of their status when they submit their applications.

How to Apply?
- Candidates must apply through the online portal.
- After applying online, submit a hard copy of the filled-in application form.
- Attach relevant documents with the hard copy of the application.
- Submit the hard copy and enclosures to the University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, or Research Institutions where you plan to do your research.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 1500/- plus 18% GST (total Rs. 1,770/-) through online payment.

General Instructions
Here are the instructions to be followed,
- Submit the hard copy of your online application to the relevant University Departments, Affiliated Colleges (both Autonomous and Non-Autonomous), or Research Institutions by June 30, 2024.
- Supervisors need to provide their details online using the candidate's application number and date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY) as the user ID and password between July 1, 2024, and July 31, 2024.
- University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, and Research Institutions must send the hard copies of applications with the necessary documents, including the Supervisor's online portal entry and a self-declaration of the number of students registered with them, along with the minutes of the Selection Committee, to the University by August 16, 2024.
- Only online applications for the July 2024 session will be accepted. Other applications will not be considered.
- Supervisors cannot register Ph.D. candidates in the last two years before their retirement. Supervisors must recommend Ph.D. candidates at least two years before their retirement. The Head of the institution must ensure the supervisor has more than two years of service left before recommending the admission of research scholars.
- Supervisors must follow the University's research regulations and verify documents according to the checklist provided.
