Mumbai University released the first merit list for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic year 2024-25 on June 13 at 5 pm. This is a crucial step for the over 2.5 lakh students who registered and submitted 8.7 lakh applications for various courses. The admissions process follows the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines.

- Third Merit List Release: June 28, 2024

- Commencement of Classes: July 4, 2024
Admission Process
- Applications: Over 2.5 lakh students registered online, submitting 8.7 lakh applications.
- Document Verification and Payment: After the release of each merit list, selected candidates need to complete document verification and pay the admission fee within the specified dates.
- Courses: The admission process is for 3-year degree courses, 4-year honors/honours with research courses, and 5-year integrated programs.
Key Highlights
- NEP 2020: The admissions process is guided by the NEP 2020, promoting flexible educational pathways and multiple entry and exit points.
- Faculty of Commerce: This faculty received the highest number of applications. The newly renamed B.Com (Management Studies) program alone received around 41,051 applications.
- Guidelines: All admissions will adhere to the guidelines from the University of Mumbai, the Government of Maharashtra, and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
