The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced recruitment for various positions in its Environment & Green Highways Division for the year 2024. The positions available include Joint Advisor (Environment & Plantation) at NHAI HQ and regional offices in Kolkata, Lucknow, and Jabalpur.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
Not exceeding 65 years as on the prescribed date of receipt of online applications.
Educational Qualification:
Degree from a recognized University/Institute in a Science group subject. Essential educational qualification is not mandatory for officers retired from forest/agriculture/horticulture/social forestry departments who have relevant experience.
Experience:
Retired officers from Central/State Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Bodies, not below the level of Conservator of Forests or Deputy Secretary/Director, with 15 years’ experience in Forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture, or Environment-related fields. Experience in Forest (including Wildlife) & Environment (including CRZ) Clearances and issues w.r.t Environment Impact Assessment (EIA)/ Environment Management Plans (EMP) etc. is required.
Other Requirements:
Candidates must be willing to work at NHAI HQ (E & GHD) and regional offices in Kolkata, Lucknow, or Jabalpur.
Job Description
Facilitate forest and environment clearances, including scrutiny of proposals and assessment of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
Coordinate with Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change and State Forests and Environment Departments, along with State Pollution Control Boards.
Manage administrative matters related to highway plantations, including database management on tree cutting and plantations.
Assess and monitor median & avenue plantation on National Highways, suggesting remedial measures as necessary.
Develop action plans and site-specific proposals for plantation and mitigation projects.
Coordinate with relevant state agencies for financial and technical resources convergence.
Scrutinize ongoing & future project plans for effective implementation of Green Highways Policy & Guidelines.
Coordinate with Project Implementing Agencies for the effective implementation and monitoring of Green Highways Projects.
Submit regular progress reports and organize training programs for local stakeholders.
Coordinate with Plantation Agencies and other organizations for project implementation and maintenance.
Liaison with State Forest Departments for obtaining necessary permissions and clearances.
