Oil India Recruitment 2024
Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, is seeking to hire personnel on a contractual basis for immediate engagement at Field Headquarters in Duliajan. These contractual positions are temporary and involve working in shifts, including roles that are arduous and hazardous in nature. The work may be at remote or far-flung OIL installations/locations and may also require being on "On-Call" duty basis.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must possess a Masters Degree in Chemistry of minimum 2 years duration from a Government of India recognized University/Institute.
- Should have at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience in handling drilling/workover fluids in the E&P (Exploration and Production) industry, specifically in Drilling and Workover Wells.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deployed as a well-site chemist at drilling/workover wells.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of drilling mud and workover brine solution at well sites.
- Address critical well situations such as pipe stuck, mud loss, well kick/blowout, etc.
- Assist in well cementing operations.
- Conduct gas testing, calculate mud hydraulics, and monitor lithology of drill cuttings.
- Perform laboratory analysis of drilling/workover fluids.
- Generate daily well reports, reports on downhole problems, cementing reports, etc.
- Maintain adequate stock of drilling and workover fluid chemicals as per operational requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and pollution control measures related to chemical activities at well sites.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 24 years old as on the date of registration for the Walk-in-Interview.
- Upper Age Limit: The maximum age allowed is 50 years as on the date of registration for the Walk-in-Interview.
- Additionally, reservation and age relaxation policies will adhere to Government guidelines applicable at the time of recruitment.
Salary Details
Contract Emoluments: 70,000/- per month. The total Contract Emoluments consists of Fixed and Variable components. Incidental of Rs 500/- per day for the actual number of days worked for OIL outside the place of posting.
Selection Criteria
a) Selection Criteria: Candidates will be assessed through a Walk-in-Interview, which will carry a total of 100 marks.
b) Minimum Qualifying Marks: All candidates, irrespective of category, must secure a minimum of 50 marks to qualify.
c) Distribution of Marks: The 100 marks in the interview will be allocated based on:
- Professional Knowledge and skills in the concerned discipline.
- Professional Knowledge and skills in allied disciplines.
- Personal Attributes and Soft Skills.
d) Final Selection: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifying marks of 50 in the Walk-in-Interview will be considered for final selection based on merit, determined by their total marks obtained during the interview.

a) Filled in Personal Bio-Data Form: Use the format provided on the last 2 pages of the advertisement.
b) One Recent Coloured Photograph: Size should be 3cm X 3cm.
c) Valid Identity Proof and Address Proof: Documents issued by a Competent Government Authority.
d) Date of Birth (DOB) Proof: Birth Certificate or Class X certificate containing DOB.
e) Educational Documents:
- Admit Card, Marksheet, and Pass Certificate of Class 10 issued by the Government Recognised Education Board.
- Documents/Certificates/Testimonials of essential qualifications and Experience Certificates.
f) Category Certificates (if applicable):
- Valid Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC).
- Valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate (if applicable).
- Valid Income and Asset Certificate for Economically Weaker Sections (if applicable).
- Valid Disability Certificate (if applicable).
- Valid Discharge Book/Service and Release Certificate for Ex-Servicemen (Pages containing Personal and Service Particulars).
- No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (if applicable).
g) Self-Attested Photocopies: Provide a set of self-attested photocopies of all applicable documents/certificates/testimonials mentioned above.
Details of Walk-in-Interview
- Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to participate in the Walk-in-Interview process for the contractual position of Chemist-Fields at Oil India Limited. Here are the details:
- Venue: OIL Human Resources Office, 5th Floor, Oil India Limited, Duliajan, Assam.
- Date and Time of Registration: 22nd July 2024, from 7:00 A.M. to 09:00 A.M.
- Date of Walk-in-Interview: 22nd July 2024.
- Important Note: No candidates will be allowed to register after 09:00 AM on the scheduled date.
- In the event that the number of registered candidates exceeds the capacity on the scheduled date, the Walk-in-Interview for the remaining candidates will be carried forward to subsequent days as necessary.
