Reserve Bank of India, Chennai (referred to as 'the Bank'), is seeking applications from eligible candidates to fill one (01) part-time Pharmacist position (Unreserved category) on a contract basis. The role offers fixed hourly remuneration for a maximum period of 240 days, with the possibility of renewal based on the Pharmacist's satisfactory performance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum qualification of Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University registered under Pharmacy Act 1948.
- Alternatively, applicants with a Bachelor's degree (B. Pharm) in Pharmacy are eligible.
- Registered with State Pharmacy Council is mandatory.
- Minimum of two (02) years of experience as a pharmacist, with preference given to those with experience in PSUs, PSBs, or Government organizations.
- Basic working knowledge of computers is required.
Remuneration
- Remuneration: Fixed rate of Rs. 400/- per hour, with a maximum of five (05) hours per day, not exceeding Rs.2000/- per day; no additional pay, allowance, or perks.
- Contract Duration: Engagement for a maximum of 240 days continuously, renewable based on satisfactory performance.
- Dispensary Allocation: Placement at any dispensary within Chennai at the Bank's discretion; may serve at multiple dispensaries as per Bank's requirement.
- Employment Status: Purely contractual; services rendered do not guarantee a temporary or permanent position with the Bank.
- Employment Benefits: Not entitled to benefits or facilities available to regular Bank employees.
- Termination: Bank reserves the right to terminate services without notice or reason.
- Compliance and Obedience: Must adhere to all directives from Bank personnel; placed under their jurisdiction, superintendence, and control.
- Confidentiality and Integrity: Required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding Bank affairs; expected to serve the Bank honestly and with integrity.
- Work Flexibility: May be required to work at any Bank dispensary in Chennai during its operational hours; remuneration based on hours worked.
Selection Method
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their overall educational qualifications (PG/Degree/Diploma), proximity of residence to various Bank dispensaries, and experience with PSBs/PSUs/Government organizations.
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview conducted by the Bank. The Bank reserves the right to raise minimum eligibility criteria to manage the number of candidates called for the interview, with decisions being final. Meeting eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee an interview call.
- Candidates selected post-interview will undergo a medical examination and document verification before being engaged as Pharmacist on a contractual basis.
- Applicants are responsible for the costs of medical tests, and no TA/HA or allowances will be provided for attending the interview.
- Final engagement is contingent upon the candidate's medical fitness, completion of document verification, and acceptance of the Contract Terms and Code of Conduct.
- The Bank's decisions in this matter are conclusive, and no correspondence will be entertained.
- The selected candidate must sign an agreement with the Bank before commencement as Pharmacist (on Contract basis) with fixed hourly remuneration.

- The sealed cover must be super-scribed with ‘Application for the post of part-time Pharmacist on contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration’.
