Sum 41
Sum 41 is a rock band from Canada, formed in 1996. The group's main members include Deryck Whibley, Dave "Brownsound" Baksh, Jason "Cone" McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo. They signed a deal with Island Records in 1999 and released their first EP, "Half Hour of Power," in 2000. Their debut album, "All Killer No Filler," came out in 2001 and became a big hit with the song "Fat Lip" reaching the top of the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
Other songs like "In Too Deep" and "Motivation" were also popular. This album achieved platinum status in the United States, and the United Kingdom, and triple platinum in Canada. Over the years, they released more albums like "Does This Look Infected?" (2002) and "Chuck" (2004), which did well. Their album "Underclass Hero" (2007) was their highest-charting album. Later albums like "Screaming Bloody Murder" (2011) and "13 Voices" (2016) continued their music journey.
In 2019, "Order in Decline" came out, and they're working on their eighth album, "Heaven and Hell." In May 2023, they announced that this new album would be their last as they plan to disband after its release and a final world tour. Sum 41's energetic live performances and music earned them nominations and awards, making them a significant Canadian rock band.
