What Happened To Woody Allen?
In August 1992, Woody Allen, an American filmmaker and actor, was accused by his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow, who was seven years old at the time, of sexually molesting her in the Connecticut home of her adoptive mother, Mia Farrow, an actress. Allen has consistently denied the allegation.
At the time of the accusation, Allen and Mia Farrow had been in a 12-year relationship and had three children together: two adopted, Dylan and Moses, and one biological, Satchel (now known as Ronan Farrow). The alleged abuse is said to have occurred eight months after Mia Farrow discovered that Allen had been involved in an illegal relationship with her other adoptive daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.
Previn was 21 years old and a first-year undergraduate student when Mia Farrow eventually learned about their relationship. Allen claimed that Mia Farrow made up the molestation allegation as an act of revenge due to his relationship with Previn.
The Connecticut State's Attorney conducted an investigation into the accusation but decided not to press charges. The Connecticut State Police referred Dylan to the Child Sexual Abuse Clinic of Yale-New Haven Hospital, which concluded that Allen had not sexually abused Dylan and that the allegation was likely coached or influenced by Mia Farrow. The New York Department of Social Services also found no credible evidence to support the accusation.
