This series is a production of Ascendant Fox, Matriarch Productions, and It's All Made Up Productions, and it's a spin-off of the 2021 film also called Boiling Point, which was directed by Philip Barantini and featured many of the same actors.

In Boiling Point, viewers can expect to see compelling drama unfold, featuring a talented cast and the creative direction of Philip Barantini and Mounia Akl. The series continues the story from the film and offers an engaging narrative for those who enjoyed the original movie.

Is Boiling Point Based on a True Story?

Boiling Point is not based on a true story, but it's inspired by the real-life experiences of the director, Philip Barantini. Before becoming a director, he worked as an actor and also in kitchens, where he eventually became a head chef. These personal experiences influenced the creation of the film and its characters.

While the movie itself isn't a true story, it draws from the director's own life to tell a gripping and realistic tale about the challenges and pressures of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. In the film, the character Andy is loosely based on Philip Barantini's own life and struggles.

The director's aim was to use these experiences to shine a light on important societal issues, such as addiction and mental health, and to show that it's okay to seek help when facing tough times. So, while Boiling Point isn't a true story, it reflects the director's personal journey and his desire to raise awareness about these important issues.

Where is Boiling Point filmed?

Boiling Point is set in Dalston, London, just like the original film. However, the entire series was filmed in Manchester, a different city. To make Manchester look like London, the producers had to be creative. They used side streets and back alleys in Manchester's Northern Quarter and Ancoats neighborhoods to recreate the Dalston look and feel.

Additionally, a nightclub on Deansgate in Manchester was transformed to resemble a London night spot. So, even though the story takes place in London, the filming actually happened in Manchester, with some clever tricks to make it look like the capital city.
