Kevin Durant Injury Update
Kevin Durant was unable to make his home debut for the Phoenix Suns against the OKC Thunder due to an ankle injury, much to the disappointment of fans. Despite finishing his pre-game routine after the injury, he avoided pushing off on his ankle during the game. This is the latest injury for Durant this season, as he had previously been sidelined for 20 games due to a right knee MCL sprain before returning on March 1st against the Charlotte Hornets. The Suns played a road game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday before the home game against the OKC Thunder. Fans were eagerly anticipating Durant's appearance, and tickets for the game sold out quickly.
When is He Coming Back?
The Phoenix Suns are currently holding onto fourth place in the highly competitive Western Conference, but their recent back-to-back losses have put a damper on their momentum. Kevin Durant made an impressive debut for the team, scoring 23 points in just 27 minutes, and followed it up with two more strong performances before being sidelined again. As reported by Shams, he is expected to return at the end of the month, leaving him with just five regular-season games to regain his form before the playoffs begin. With the playoffs fast approaching, the Suns will need Durant to be at his best to make a deep run. If they manage to avoid the play-in tournament, they will have some time off after their final regular-season game on April 9th. As the Western Conference is highly competitive, the Suns' first-round playoff matchup is sure to be closely watched. Durant is eager to add another championship to his resume, while the Suns are hoping to make another run to the NBA Finals. After a tough loss to the LA Lakers, the team is eagerly awaiting Durant's return.
Who is Kevin Durant?
Kevin Wayne Durant, also known as KD, is a highly acclaimed American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. He played for the Texas Longhorns for a season in college before being chosen as the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft. Durant spent nine seasons with the franchise, which was later renamed the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008. In 2016, he joined the Golden State Warriors, where he won back-to-back NBA championships and NBA Finals MVP Awards in 2017 and 2018. After suffering an Achilles injury in the 2019 finals, he became a free agent and signed with the Brooklyn Nets that same summer. However, he later requested a trade during the 2022 offseason due to disagreements with the Nets' management. Eventually, he was traded to the Suns in 2023. Durant is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players and scorers in the history of the sport.
