National Magazine Awards 

The National Magazine Awards, also called the Ellie Awards, celebrate excellence in print and digital publications. They recognize outstanding achievements in editorial objectives, innovative techniques, enterprise, and design. Originally focused on print magazines, these awards now honour quality journalism across all mediums. Sponsored by the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) and administered in New York City, the awards have been held annually since 1966.

The Ellie Awards are judged by magazine journalists and educators, with over 300 judges participating each year. Judges select finalists and winners in various categories, with each category having its judging group. Finalists receive certificates of recognition, while winners are awarded a reproduction of Alexander Calder's "Elephant" sculpture, which has been the symbol of the awards since 1970. Notable changes include expanding the Design and Photography categories to include digital entries and suspending the Fiction award in 2017.
