What Happened to The Second Bangle in The Marvels?

In "The Marvels," the second bangle, known as a Quantum Band, was found by the villainous Kree radical Dar-Benn on a distant planet called MB-418. This surprised Kamala Khan and others, as they didn't expect the bangle to be in space. The Quantum Band is a powerful artifact of the Kree civilization, capable of opening dimensional gateways known as Jump-Points by manipulating immense amounts of energy.

Dar-Benn used the bangle to drain the atmosphere from planets to try to save her dying homeworld, Hala. However, her attempt to wield both Quantum Bands resulted in her downfall. The combined power overwhelmed her, leading to her demise and the creation of a tear in space/time.

After Dar-Benn's defeat, Kamala was entrusted with both Quantum Bands. It's unclear how she can handle the immense power of both bangles, but it may be due to her mutant genes or her extended connection with one bangle. Now equipped with two powerful objects, Kamala's future adventures as Ms. Marvel promise to be eventful, potentially involving her companions from the Young Avengers.

The Marvels

"The Marvels" is a superhero movie released in 2023, a sequel to "Captain Marvel" and a continuation of "Ms. Marvel." It's the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Nia DaCosta, it stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani as Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel, respectively. The story follows the trio teaming up as "the Marvels" when they start switching powers.

Plans for the sequel were confirmed in July 2019, with development starting in January 2020. Larson returned as Danvers, and DaCosta was hired as director. Parris and Vellani also reprised their roles. Filming began in mid-2021 in various locations, with Karasik joining during post-production.

"The Marvels" premiered in November 2023 as part of MCU's Phase Five but received mixed reviews, praising performances but criticizing the script. It performed below expectations at the box office, grossing $206 million worldwide against a $274.8 million budget, making it one of the lowest-grossing MCU films and failing to break even theatrically.

The Marvels Plot

Carol Danvers destroys the Supreme Intelligence, the Kree's leader. This causes a war on the Kree's home planet, Hala, which becomes barren over the next 30 years. Dar-Benn, the new Kree leader, finds one of the legendary Quantum Bands, which can create a network for fast space travel.

She opens a jump point near Earth, which Monica Rambeau investigates. When Rambeau touches it, she switches places with Danvers and Kamala Khan, who have other Quantum Bands. They realize they switch places when they use their light-based powers.

They team up and go to a Skrull colony to negotiate peace with the Kree. Dar-Benn disrupts the negotiations and tries to restore Hala by draining other planets. The trio, now called "the Marvels," stop her. They go to Aladna to warn the locals. Dar-Benn tries to use both Quantum Bands but is destroyed, creating a rift between realities.

Rambeau closes it from the other side but gets stuck. Danvers restores Hala's sun and Kamala returns to Earth. Inspired by their teamwork, Kamala decides to form a group of young heroes. In a scene after the credits, Rambeau wakes up in another universe.
