AE Mysteries on Thin Ice Walkthrough

Here is the complte walkthrough.

Chapter 1: The Cabin Walkthrough

  • After completing the tutorial, you need to click on the Reader on your desk to note the five-digit code (63849) bolded from left to right across it. Then click on the Monitor on your desk and enter the code. At the cabin, pick up the Wheel and Gas Can and use both on the Snow Blower. Click on the large snowball in the middle of the screen to reveal a Nozzle, which can also be used on the Snow Blower. Then use the Snow Blower on the snow to clear it. Obtain the Metal Numbers and use them on the wooden Signpost, matching the holes in the numbers with the black circles on the board to get the code 40827. Use this code to enter the cabin through the front door panel.
  • Inside the cabin, click on the window to let in some light. Click on the arm of the dead body nearest the artificial legs to get a close-up view. Grab the symbol strip (small piece of paper) and examine it to reveal Arrow, Skull, Heart, and Wave. Click on the curtains to get some Cloth and on the mattress to reveal a locked door. Also, click on the weights to reveal some loose floorboards, and open the two cupboards to reveal a 32-triangle puzzle and a Hacksaw (behind the snacks). Use the Hacksaw on the loose floorboards to reveal a Case needing a four-digit combination.
  • Take the Cloth outside and dip it in the water by the signpost. Use the Wet Cloth to clean the blood from the case. Note that there are nine Arrows, four Skulls, one Heart, and six Waves on the victim's artificial legs (artwork) and body (as tattoos), giving you the code 9416. Use this code to unlock the case, which will give you 10 Triangles, a Note, and a Lockpick gun. Use the Lockpick to open the door to the side of the cabin. Click on the ground outside this door to reveal a Green Box, and the yellow sheet to its left to obtain a Fire Extinguisher and Cleaning Oil from the barbecue. Use the oil on the Green Box.
  • Click on the ice blocks in the stream between the two sides of the broken bridge to start a simple puzzle and complete it to create steps up the other side. Use the Fire Extinguisher on the burning car and get the Crowbar from the body on the left and a Wrench from the one on the right. Use the Crowbar on the car to open the door and get the Charger Lead from inside.
  • Plug the charger cable into the wall socket in the cabin and use the Wrench to fix the Wheelchair, which will cause a Key to fall from a hidden compartment on it. Grab the key to open the Green Box and get the Screwdriver and 10 more Triangles. Use the Screwdriver on the artificial legs to get the Mobile Phone and put it on the charger. Use the Charged Phone on the face of the victim in the cabin, read the messages on the phone, then go back out to the front of the cabin and use the phone to open the lock box to the left of the door. Open the box inside to get 11 more Triangles and a Chart. Using the triangles on the cabinet in the cabin will start a simple electrical current puzzle and then let you into a safe. Take the Photo inside then add it, the Note, and the Chart to the Picture Frame on the cabin wall to reveal a hidden compartment containing a Hard Drive.

Chapter 2: Sticks Walkthrough

  • First, move the tall plant located on the left side of the elevator. Use the panel behind it to trigger a trap and obtain a Sculpture Shard. Interact with Lobby Bot, who can answer four questions. Take note of the answers to questions two to four, which include a number in the written response and a symbol on the bot's panel. Use these symbols (Shield, Timer, Silence) to unlock a black box in the lobby and obtain some Copper Wire.
  • Next, remove the plant and the seat to the right of the elevator, and use the Sculpture Shard on the wall behind to open a Maintenance Locker. Retrieve the Stepladder and Toolbox inside. Then, use the Toolbox to reach the security camera and take the Capacitor, and use the Screwdriver on the lift panel to obtain a Light Switch. Combine the wire, capacitor, and light switch with Lobby Bot.
  • Pick up the computer chips from the floor next to Lobby Bot, and use them to start a connections puzzle. Once completed, Lobby Bot will open the elevator doors. Observe the pattern you made on Lobby Bot during the connections puzzle to obtain four numbers. Use the Screwdriver on the lift panel to reveal the color sequence, which gives you the left code (4365).
  • Upon arriving in Sticks' office, interact with her and choose the following dialogue options: "We never get a reward," "I have Hacksaw's evidence," and "Put the hard drive on the table." Afterward, pick up the Fan and click on the chair to reveal a Socket, where you can plug in the fan. Once the smoke clears, grab the Fan again, as well as the Doll, Hard Drive, Ornaments, Curtain Rope, and Duct Tape. Use the Duct Tape to fix the Broken Lamp, and the Rope on the chandelier to retrieve the Key. Use the Key to open the Safe, take the Photos inside, remove the clip, and use it on the Picture Frame under the bookshelf to grab it. Spread out the photos.
  • Finally, place the Lamp, Ornaments, Doll, and Picture Frame on the bookshelf, paying attention to the positions in the Photos. Complete the tile-swapping puzzle to escape down the elevator shaft.

Chapter 3: The Police Station Walkthrough

  • First, speak with Murphy until the computer monitor goes blank. Remove the Police Property sticker from the monitor by clicking on it and use it to fix the wire. On the photo wall of the screen, there are three levels with one, three, and five photos in a pyramid shape. The Hard Drive on your desk has the same pattern of one-three-five. These numbers match the names of Blackjack (21), Dimebag (10), and Nooner (12, noon) to get the code 211012.
  • In Dan's office, use the Grabber to pick up the Remote on the floor under the central desk, and move the junk piles to find the Handle, the Fan Bay on the right-side desk, and books to get another Fan Bay. Use the Grabber to obtain the Energy Cola (5) on top of the tall cabinet and use it to wake up Dan. Get a Graphics Card and a Microfiber Cloth by clicking on his sleeping bag. The Coolant is located in the bottom drawer of the left desk. Put the Handle on the right door of the main desk (6) and open the drawer to get the Plastic Tubes. Fix Dan's computer by using the Fan Bays, Graphics Card, Tubes, and Coolant.
  • Clean the Digital Picture Frame with the Cloth and fix it with the Remote. The four pictures on the frame show a clock (5), a snow scene (3), a sushi night (9), and Robot Wars (7), providing the code 5397 to enter Dan's computer. Click on one of the monitors to enter the PIN and decrypt Stick's information (yellow top, white middle, green bottom) by clicking the buttons as directed.
  • After Dan is in custody, use the Bent Wire to get Jacob's Keys from his belt and the Hand Sanitizer from the machine. Unlock the locker with the keys and use the Hand Sanitizer to melt the ice on the bottom-right frozen lock. Enter the code 40242 and get Dan's Evidence to give to Keiko. Use the Police Tape to get Murphy to leave and then use the wire to get the Tin Mug from the cell. Use the mug on the drip by the cell door (8) to get a Mug of Water. Obtain the Arrest Papers from the container on the wall behind Keiko (9) and give them to Jacob. Use the wire to get Dan's Glasses from the cell floor, use the Mug of Water to wake Dan up, and give him his glasses.
  • Check Dan's belt to find a Key in the buckle and use it in the tall filing cabinet to get the Stingray Phone Scanner. Find the Antenna and the Battery Pack by moving the other items in the cabinet. Finally, solve the Cell Tower puzzle to obtain Stick's location.

Chapter 4: Conclusion Walkthrough

  • First, gather the spikes from the tarp and clear the snow from six signs on the doors. Then, click on the snow on the bottom left of the screen to find vodka. Next, apply the vodka to the metal box on the right side of the gate. Use the numbers from the signs and the number of bullet holes in each to decipher the code, which is 991224. Solve the simple Drones puzzle to enter the building.
  • Take the two beams leaning against the left wall and position them on the ground. Remove the curtains (numbered 10 in the picture) and retrieve the Hammer from the windowsill. Use the hammer on the two planks on the window, and then go outside to the gate and take three of the signs to use as additional planks. Observe the code VXKW on the wall in a clockwise direction, starting with V at 12 o'clock. Return inside and secure the five planks to the beams using the spikes.
  • Retrieve the Skylight Rod from atop the fireplace (numbered 11 in the picture) and use it to obtain the Ring on the beam to the right of the screen (numbered 12). Remove the wood in the fireplace to find a third Ring (numbered 13). Attach the rings to the central device and rotate the dials to replicate the letter sequence from the wall outside (VXKW). Travel down the chimney and note that code 7427 is framed by the V of the code wheel.
  • Press the Red Button twice to divert Hex's attention and subsequently trap him. Use the Skylight Rod to open the Duffle Bag (numbered 14 in the picture), distracting Sticks, then retrieve the Chisel from the bag on the yellow generator. Input code 7427 into the generator to reveal a fuel pipe.
  • Climb the ladder and utilize the chisel on the Globe. Use the hammer on the chisel to crack open the globe and get the Broken Bottle and Syrup. Apply the syrup to the fuel pipe downstairs to disable the generator and distract Colt. Open his backpack and obtain the Fight Manual, which details how a battle operates. Take the Taser from the backpack and disable Colt. Search for him to locate the Handcuff Key, which can be used to free Caspia.
  • Read the book to determine the counters required in the final battle. Remember that the battle will have a time limit, so you cannot take your time once it begins. If you fail, you can attempt it again. You must win three rounds, each with three combat moves. There are three blank spots because there are only six total moves, but you have nine spots to use them:

            1. Sticks: Stab, elbow, punch. Counter with: dodge, block, and elbow.

            2. Sticks: Stab, block, kick. Counter with: stab, [nothing], punch.

            3. Sticks: Dodge, elbow, stab. Counter with: [nothing], kick, [nothing].

  • With this, you have completed the puzzle-solving in On Thin Ice. Enjoy the final scenes.
