Apex Legends Wiki

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter game that was initially released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in February 2019. Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.It was later released for Nintendo Switch in March 2021, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022. In May 2022, a mobile version of the game designed for touchscreens titled Apex Legends Mobile was launched on Android and iOS. The game supports cross-platform play, except for the mobile platforms. Before each match, players form into squads of two or three and select from pre-designed characters with unique abilities known as "Legends." The game features two gameplay modes: "Battle Royale" and "Arenas." In "Battle Royale," up to 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island and search for weapons and supplies before engaging in combat. The play area on the island shrinks over time, forcing players to keep moving. The final team alive wins the round. In "Arenas," players form into three-player squads and engage in a 3v3 team deathmatch over a series of rounds to determine the winner of the match.Apex Legends takes place in the same science fiction universe as Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series, with several characters from the Titanfall series appearing as minor characters or playable Legends. Work on the game began in late 2016, and the game's release in 2019 was a surprise, as it had been assumed that Respawn Entertainment was working on a third installment to the Titanfall franchise.Apex Legends received positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay, progression system, and fusion of elements from various genres. Some considered it a worthy competitor to other battle royale games. The game surpassed 25 million players by the end of its first week and 50 million within its first month. As of April 2021, it had approximately 100 million players, making it one of the most played video games of all time in terms of player count.

In line with recent Heirloom releases, the Kunai has been revitalized, and a new Heirloom called "Hope's Dawn" has been introduced for Wraith mains, old and new. Apex Legends Gameplay Trailer

Apex Legends is an online multiplayer battle royale game that allows squads of up to three players to use pre-made characters called "Legends," which possess distinctive abilities akin to hero shooters. Since its release, alternate modes have been introduced that permit single-player and two-player squads. The game is free-to-play and utilizes microtransactions and loot boxes to generate revenue, allowing players to purchase cosmetic items such as outfits for the Legends and new weapon colors using real money or in-game currency. Each match typically consists of twenty teams of three-player squads. Players can either form a squad with friends or be matched randomly with other players.

Prior to the match, each squad member chooses one of the 23 playable characters (as of season 15), and no character may be selected more than once by a squad. Each squad member's chosen character has unique abilities, design, and personality, resulting in different playstyles for the team. All teams are loaded onto an aircraft that flies over the game map. One squad member becomes the jumpmaster, deciding when the squad should skydive out of the aircraft and where to land while taking input from the other squad members. Nonetheless, players have the freedom to deviate from their squad's chosen path.

Apex Legends is a multiplayer battle royale game where teams of three players use unique characters called "Legends" with distinctive abilities, similar to hero shooters. There are also alternate modes available for one or two-player squads. The game is free-to-play and funded through microtransactions and loot boxes for cosmetic items such as outfits and weapon colors. Each match consists of 20 teams, with each player selecting a unique character for their squad before boarding an aircraft that flies over the game map. One player acts as the jumpmaster and decides when and where the squad should land, though players are free to deviate from the squad's path.

Once on the ground, squads can search for weapons, armor, and equipment that are scattered around buildings or in crates across the map while using the nonverbal "ping system" to communicate with their squadmates. The game offers various movement options, such as climbing short walls, sliding down inclined surfaces, and using zip-lines to travel quickly. As the game progresses, the safe zone around a randomly-selected point on the map will reduce in size, forcing encounters between squads.

The last squad with surviving members is named the "Apex Champions."Players who are knocked down can be revived by their teammates, while those who are killed can still be resurrected if their team members collect their respawn banner and bring it to a beacon on the island. However, the banner must be collected within a time limit, or the player will be fully eliminated. Season 9 introduced a new permanent mode called "Arena," which deviates from the battle royale format.

In this mode, players form three-player squads and engage in a 3v3 team deathmatch over several rounds. The winning team must have at least three points and be two points ahead of the other team. The mode borrows mechanics from other shooters like Counter-Strike and Valorant and lets players purchase equipment and charges of their Legend's abilities using materials earned in previous rounds. This mode was removed in Season 16.
