Atlas Fallen is an action role-playing video game developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. It was released on August 10, 2023, for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S. The game is being developed by Deck13 Interactive using their in-house engine called "Fledge". Unlike the studio's previous games, Lords of the Fallen and The Surge, Atlas Fallen is not a "Soulslike" game. Instead, it focuses on fast-paced and fluid combat, taking inspiration from games like God of War (2018) and the Horizon series. However, elements from The Surge games, such as a body targeting system, have also been incorporated into Atlas Fallen.

The game offers three difficulty modes, with a hard mode specifically designed for seasoned players of Soulslike games. Deck13 and Focus Entertainment announced Atlas Fallen at Gamescom in August 2022. Originally scheduled for release in May, the game was delayed to August 10, 2023, to allow the development team more time to polish the game and include a full German voice-over at launch. Players who pre-order the game will receive the "Ruin Rising Pack," which includes various cosmetic items and essence stones to enhance their gameplay experience.

The primary objective is to delve into the case and expose the individual accountable for the apple theft. Through meticulous investigation and analysis, the aim is to unveil the identity of the perpetrator behind this incident of stolen apples. 

Objective: Uncover the Culprit Behind the Apple Theft

• Begin your investigation at the Fruit Seller's location, then ascend the slope leading to the Upper City.
• While traversing this path, be on the lookout for Rare Apples that can be found along the way.
• Upon reaching the area centered around a small flame brazier, direct your attention southwards.
• Adjacent to the staircase that ascends, there's a narrow path. Approach the Suspicious Individual in this area.
• Engage in conversation with the individual to learn that they are the one who stole the apples. They will provide you with a Treasure Map titled "The Garden of the Sun."

Two Paths to Follow:

• Inform the vendor about the thief's departure from the city. This leads to the necessity of tracking down the thief later to finalize the side-quest.
• Alternatively, inform the vendor that the thief is still within the city. This enables you to locate the Rare Apples and return them to the vendor for an additional reward.

Objective: Locate the Purloined Apples

The stolen apples can be found in the subsequent locations:

• Depart from the vendor and proceed along the path towards the upper city. Spot a Rare Apple on the left side of the main pathway.
• Further ahead from the first apple (but before encountering the Beggar), you'll find the second Rare Apple. It's positioned beyond the railing in the grass to the right of the path.
• Continue along the path towards the Upper City. When you encounter a set of stairs on the right, there lies another Rare Apple on the ground nearby.
• Ascend these stairs and follow the path to its conclusion, where you'll uncover the fourth Rare Apple.
• Descend the stairs and continue onwards. As you approach the area featuring the small flame brazier, you'll notice the fifth Rare Apple on the ground.
• Ascend the substantial staircase to the south. At its pinnacle, on a table, rests the sixth Rare Apple. 7-9. Traverse the narrow alley adjacent to the stairs (leading to the Sketchy Person mentioned earlier). Along this path, you'll stumble upon three more Rare Apples, bringing the total count to nine.
• Locating the tenth and final Rare Apple requires some ingenuity. This apple will materialize at the same spot where you encountered the Sketchy Thief. However, to trigger its appearance, you must transition to another map (Monsalar: Bastengar Underground or Caladrius). Upon your return, the thief will have vanished, leaving the tenth Rare Apple in their stead.

Upon amassing all ten Rare Apples, a new objective becomes apparent.

Objective: Restore the Collection of Stolen Apples

• Proceed back to the vendor and deliver all ten Rare Apples to successfully conclude the quest.

The core objective revolves around uncovering the individual responsible for the theft of the apples. Through careful investigation and deduction, the aim is to ascertain the identity of the perpetrator behind this incident of apple pilfering.

Objective: Identify the Culprit Behind the Apple Theft

Begin your pursuit at the Fruit Seller's locale, tracing the ascent towards the Upper City along the slope. Discover Rare Apples en route. Upon reaching the central point with a small flame brazier, cast your gaze to the south. Adjacent to the ascending stairs, a narrow pathway lies. Engage the Sketchy Person in dialogue; they'll confess to the theft and provide a Treasure Map titled "The Garden of the Sun."

At this juncture, you can either inform the vendor of the thief's departure from the city or suggest that the thief remains within. In the former case, returning to the thief is necessary to finalize the side-quest. In the latter scenario, tracking down the Rare Apples and delivering them to the vendor yields an added reward.

Objective: Retrieve the Stolen Apples

The pilfered apples can be located as follows:

• From the vendor, follow the path towards the upper city. A Rare Apple lies on the left side of the main path.
• Proceed a bit further from the first apple (prior to encountering the Beggar); discover the second Rare Apple over the railing and in the grass to the right.
• While progressing towards the Upper City, spot another Rare Apple by the stairs on the right.
• Ascend the stairs and follow the path to its conclusion for the fourth Rare Apple.
• Upon descending the stairs, proceed ahead. At the site with the small flame brazier, find the fifth Rare Apple.
• Ascend the substantial southern staircase. At its pinnacle, a table hosts the sixth Rare Apple. 7-9. Traverse the narrow alley near the stairs, uncovering three more Rare Apples, bringing the tally to nine.
• Securing the tenth Rare Apple is a tad intricate. It emerges at the spot where the Sketchy Thief was encountered. Trigger its appearance by journeying to another map (Monsalar: Bastengar Underground or Caladrius), returning to find the thief gone and the final Rare Apple in its place.

Upon amassing all ten Rare Apples, a new objective materializes.

Objective: Recover the Stolen Apple Collection

• Revisit the vendor and relinquish all ten Rare Apples to successfully conclude the quest.

Atlas Fallen is an epic third-person action RPG that puts players in control of a customizable hero. Armed with a powerful ancient gauntlet, you'll harness the mystical power of sand manipulation to shape deadly weapons. Choose from a variety of weapons, but remember, you can only carry two at a time.

Unlike previous games from Deck 13, Atlas Fallen takes a more traditional approach to action gameplay. You'll need to master the art of dodging, countering, and blocking enemy attacks, all while seamlessly switching between ground and aerial combat. Every strike against your foes will earn you Momentum, building up to a thrilling moment when your current weapon transforms, unleashing devastating special skills and abilities to annihilate your enemies.

Prepare to embark on an epic adventure across multiple vast and open regions, teeming with non-playable characters to meet and side quests to complete. Exploration is key in Atlas Fallen, and your gauntlet will be your trusty companion. As you progress, discover valuable "Shards" and "Catalyst Pieces" to further enhance your gauntlet's combat prowess.
