Azur Lane Community Tier List 2023
Welcome to the Azur Lane Community Tier List for the year 2023. In this comprehensive tier list, we'll be presenting the top-performing ships in the game, categorized into S-Tier, A-Tier, B-Tier, and C-Tier. This list aims to help players make informed decisions when assembling their fleets for different game modes.
Azur Lane Gameplay
Azur Lane is a captivating side-scrolling shoot 'em up, simulation, and role-playing video game where players collect adorable anthropomorphic interpretations of World War II warships known as "ship girls." These ship girls represent various naval forces, including the United States Navy, Royal Navy, Imperial Japanese Navy, Kriegsmarine, and more, with additional ships from other nations added later.
In the game, players assemble fleets of six shipgirls and engage in battles against AI-controlled enemies or other players' fleets. The ship girls can earn experience points (EXP) from battles, commissions, or by being placed in Dormitories, which helps them level up and enhance their abilities. Each ship girl has unique upgradable abilities that players can activate during battles.
As players embark on their journey, they have the opportunity to select personifications of famous warships, such as the American destroyer USS Laffey (DD-459), British destroyer HMS Javelin, and German destroyer Z23 (in the Chinese and English releases) or Japanese destroyer Ayanami (in the Japanese and Korean releases) as their starter ships, who are considered the protagonists in the game.
Throughout the game's development, over 450 characters have been introduced, representing ships from nine different countries that participated in World War II. One remarkable aspect of the game is that it includes well-known museum ships like the Japanese Mikasa and the Russian Aurora, adding to the game's historical significance.
Additionally, the game introduced a new game mode called "Operation Siren," which was announced on Twitter in December 2020 and released later that month, offering players an exciting new gameplay experience.
Azur Lane Plot
At the beginning of the game, players witness an anthropomorphic portrayal of the Battle of the Denmark Strait, where the famous British battlecruiser HMS Hood is depicted as being sunk by characters representing the German forces.
The game centers around a military alliance called the "Azur Lane," which consists of nations like the Eagle Union (United States), Royal Navy (United Kingdom), Sakura Empire (Empire of Japan), Iron Blood (Nazi Germany), Dragon Empery (Republic of China), Northern Parliament (Soviet Union), Iris Orthodoxy (France), and Sardegna Empire (Kingdom of Italy).
However, due to alien intervention, the alliance fractures, leading to the formation of an opposing faction known as the "Crimson Axis," which includes the Iron Blood, Sakura Empire, and Sardegna Empire.
Utilizing advanced technology provided by the aliens called "Sirens," the Crimson Axis launches an invasion against their former allies. This results in the occupation of many Azur Lane territories by the Crimson Axis, with the Iris Orthodoxy dividing into Iris Libre (Free France) and Vichya Dominion (Vichy France).
The main plot of the game follows the United States naval engagements during the Pacific War, featuring chapters dedicated to significant battles such as the Battle of Midway, the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, and the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign. Players can experience and participate in these historical events as they progress through the game's storyline.
