BMF is a crime drama that is currently featured in the STARZ network. It is based on real-life events involving the Black Mafia Family. Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory started the Black Mafia Family in Southwest Detroit in 1985. By 2000, they had established cocaine distribution sales throughout the United States through their Los Angeles–based drug supplier and direct contacts to Mexican drug cartels. The Black Mafia Family operated out of two primary hubs: one in Atlanta, run by Demetrius Flenory, for distribution, and one in Los Angeles, run by Terry Flenory, for receiving shipments from Mexico.

On the show, the character is portrayed by Myles Truitt. At the age of 11, Myles Truitt grew interested in acting. In The New Edition Story, he makes his debut as a young Ronnie DeVoe. He continued to appear on television in minor roles until he made his big picture debut with Kin. He landed the role of Ant on Queen Sugar and played Issa Williams in Black Lightning. Truitt had never heard of the comic book character before his appearance in the series but later became interested in it.
