Best Brawlers in Brawl Stars

In Brawl Stars, certain Brawlers stand out as top picks due to their exceptional abilities and effectiveness in battles.

Leon

Leon shines as one of the best damage dealers in Brawl Stars, wielding four blades that excel in both short and long-range combat. While his attack might take some getting used to, mastering it yields exceptional results. His Smoke Bomb ability aids in easy escapes and surprise attacks, offering a plethora of advantages once players grasp his playstyle.

Bonnie

Bonnie emerges as a versatile and potent force across different game modes. Her prowess in speed, damage, health, and adaptability makes her a formidable contender, notably excelling in Showdown where her resilience and versatile abilities make her challenging to overcome.

Squeak

Despite relatively lower damage output, Squeak shines in controlling specific areas and restricting opponent movements. As a tactical tank, Squeak's utility lies in impeding enemy Brawlers from accessing crucial zones, proving incredibly valuable in modes like Heist and Siege.

Fang

Fang secures a top spot due to his balanced attributes of high health, damage output, and swift movement. Despite a shorter attack range, his versatility as a damage dealer compensates well. Mastering Fang's Super ability, effective against tankier opponents, requires strategic placement, making him a valuable asset in battle scenarios.

Brawl Stars Gameplay

In Brawl Stars, players engage in thrilling battles against either other players or AI opponents across various game modes. The core of the game revolves around choosing characters known as Brawlers, who possess unique abilities and strengths. These Brawlers can be unlocked through various means like Boxes, the Brawl Pass, the Trophy Road, or purchasing them via the in-game Shop. In a significant update in December 2022, Boxes were replaced by credits and chroma credits, used to unlock most Brawlers, now predominantly found on the "Starr Road."

The game offers a diverse array of game modes, each with its own specific objective and challenges. Players have the option to team up with friends, inviting them to join matches with a maximum team size depending on the chosen game mode. This collaborative element allows players to strategize and coordinate with their friends for more effective gameplay.

Moreover, players can enhance their gaming experience by acquiring skins using Gems, Star Points, or Coins, or by unlocking them through the Brawl Pass. These skins modify the appearance, animations, effects, and sounds of the Brawlers, adding an extra layer of customization and personalization to the gameplay.

Brawl Stars Development

Brawl Stars was crafted by Supercell with a vision to create a team-based game reminiscent of popular titles like League of Legends and Overwatch, specifically tailored for mobile devices. Frank Keienburg from Supercell highlighted their goal of preserving depth in the game while eliminating unnecessary complexities, focusing on a mobile-first design philosophy.

The game underwent an extensive soft launch phase where nearly every aspect was revamped. Supercell officially unveiled Brawl Stars via a livestream in June 2017, commencing its soft launch the next day in Canada for iOS. The soft launch extended for an unprecedented 522 days, during which numerous alterations were made, including shifting from portrait mode with tap controls to landscape mode using analog controls. The game's user interface, metagame, and transition from 2D to 3D visuals underwent substantial changes, reflecting the developers' dedication to refining the gameplay experience.

Frank Keienburg acknowledged the challenges encountered during the beta phase, attributing them to exploring a new gaming genre where understanding the game's success was initially uncertain. The game's soft launch expanded gradually to several countries before its global release. Initially introduced to iOS in select regions in January 2018, it transitioned to Android in June 2018, continuing the soft launch process. Eventually, Brawl Stars was officially launched worldwide on December 12, 2018, making an impressive US$63 million in its first month. Its release in Mainland China further expanded its global reach when it debuted on June 9, 2020.
