Chaitra Navratri 2023 Significance

The day of Chaitra Navratri begins with waking up early and performing full rituals for worship. Fasting is observed on the first day, which is practiced by many devotees for all nine days of Navratri. The ritual of Kalash is performed by filling it with water and placing it at the worship place, tying Kalava on its mouth, and adorning it with mango and Ashoka leaves along with coconut. Aarti is performed, and Maa Durga is worshiped by lighting incense and a lamp.

As per the scriptures, observing fast, performing worship rituals, and offering prayers for nine days during Chaitra Navratri brings special blessings from Goddess Durga. In case someone is unable to observe fast for all nine days, they should at least fast on Navratri's first and eighth day (Ashtami Tithi). Additionally, lighting a continuous flame (akhand jyoti) and reciting Durga Saptashati during daily worship throughout Navratri is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and peace to the family.
