Creed Band
Creed is an American rock band that formed in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1994. The band gained prominence during the late 1990s and early 2000s with their post-grunge sound. Their lineup includes lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.
Creed is best known for their multi-platinum albums, with "Human Clay" (1999) achieving diamond certification. Their hit single "With Arms Wide Open" won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. After disbanding in 2004, they reunited in 2009 and released their album "Full Circle" in 2009. After another hiatus, they officially reunited in 2023 and announced their headlining performance at the Summer of '99 cruise festival in April 2024.
Creed Band Career
Creed's journey started in 1994 when vocalist Scott Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti, along with other members, formed the band in Florida. They achieved widespread recognition with their debut album "My Own Prison" in 1997. Their follow-up album, "Human Clay" (1999), became a massive success, featuring chart-topping singles like "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." The band faced challenges, including the departure of bassist Brian Marshall in 2000, but continued to release music. In 2001, they released "Weathered," which also received critical acclaim.
However, internal conflicts and personal issues led to Creed's disbandment in 2004. Despite the break, they reunited in 2009, releasing "Full Circle" and embarking on a tour. Creed's impact on the rock scene remains significant, influencing a generation of listeners with their powerful lyrics and emotive sound.
