Who Is Hosting The Daily Show This Week?
The Daily Show has been without a permanent host since Trevor Noah's departure in December 2021. In the interim, a series of guest hosts have taken over for a week at a time. Leslie Jones kicked off the new year as the first guest host on January 17, followed by Wanda Sykes, who started her week of shows on January 23. D.L. Hughley from "The Original Kings of Comedy" took over from Sykes, and Chelsea Handler is set to host her week of shows starting on February 6. Other guest hosts on the lineup include Sarah Silverman, Hasan Minhaj, Marlon Wayans, Kal Penn, Al Franken, and John Leguizamo. Handler has expressed interest in taking over the show full-time, and she has been vocal about the need for more women in late-night television. During their respective weeks, the guest hosts covered a range of topics, from classified documents to legal battles between Swifties and Ticketmaster. Hasan Minhaj, who dropped a new comedy special on Netflix to close out 2022, will guest host "The Daily Show" for a week starting on February 27. Marlon Wayans will take over from him for the week of March 6, followed by Kal Penn on March 13, Al Franken on March 20, and John Leguizamo on March 27.

The Daily Show (TDS) is a popular American late-night talk and satirical news television program that airs on Comedy Central on Monday through Thursday, with releases available shortly after on Paramount+. The show draws its comedy and satire from recent news stories, political figures, and media organizations, often utilizing self-referential humor.
Originally hosted by Craig Kilborn, the half-hour program premiered on July 22, 1996, and continued until December 17, 1998. Jon Stewart then took over as the host from January 11, 1999, until August 6, 2015, during which time the show became more heavily focused on political satire and news satire, as opposed to the pop culture focus of Kilborn's tenure. Trevor Noah succeeded Stewart as host on September 28, 2015.

During Trevor Noah's time as host of The Daily Show, the show opened with announcer Drew Birns introducing the program with the words, "From Comedy Central's World News Headquarters in New York, this is The Daily Show with Trevor Noah". In the past, the introduction was "This is The Daily Show, the most important television program, ever." The host would then present a monologue based on current news stories and topics. Previously, the show's news commentary was divided into segments called "Headlines", "Other News", and "This Just In". However, these titles were discontinued from regular use on October 28, 2002, and were last used on March 6, 2003. In some episodes, the show would start with a brief introduction of a small story or set of stories before transitioning to the main story of the night.
