After colliding with a car while riding a bicycle, TV host Dan Walker said he is "happy to be alive."
The former host of BBC Breakfast, who is currently employed by Channel 5, posted pictures of his injured face taken from inside an ambulance on social media.
In Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Mr. Walker, 45, said: "Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike.
"Face is a mess but I don't think anything is broken."
Following the incident on Moore Street in Sheffield's downtown on Monday morning, the images were taken in a Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) truck with two employees.
Mr. Walker praised the emergency services by saying, "Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene. This is my smiling. Thankful for our NHS".

Afterward, Mr. Walker tweeted a status update stating that he was healthy and at home. "Blown away by all the lovely messages. Thank you," he said. "Just got home from the hospital. Battered and bruised but - amazingly - nothing broken. "Very thankful to still be here. I have no memory of anything and just remember coming round on the tarmac with paramedics & police around me."
The incident occurred as a result of a strike that affected Yorkshire Ambulance services.
On Sunday at 8:00 GMT, about 1,400 GMB-affiliated YAS employees went on strike because the service will have fewer ambulances available to respond to patients.
