Destiny 2

Destiny 2 is an online first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie. Initially released in 2017 as a pay-to-play game, it became free-to-play under the title "New Light" in October 2019. The game is available on platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, Destiny 2 offers a multiplayer shared-world environment with elements of role-playing games. The game features both player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) activities. In PvE, players can engage in story missions, strikes, dungeons, raids, and free roam patrol modes.

The game emphasizes exploration, interactions with non-player characters (NPCs), and public events. PvP offers objective-based modes and traditional deathmatch game modes. Players assume the role of Guardians, protectors of Earth's last safe city, wielding a power called Light to defend humanity against various alien races and the looming threat of the Darkness.

Like its predecessor, Destiny 2 offers expansion packs that expand the story and introduce new content. The game went through different phases with expansions such as Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light. In Year Four of Destiny 2, significant changes were made as a large portion of the game's content from the first three years was removed and placed in the Destiny Content Vault.

The Beyond Light expansion introduced the power of Darkness and marked the beginning of a new era for the franchise, followed by The Witch Queen and Lightfall expansions. These expansions, along with The Final Shape, will conclude the "Light and Darkness Saga" and pave the way for a new saga.

Upon its release, Destiny 2 received generally positive reviews from critics, praising its improvements over the original game, including the story, gameplay, visuals, multiplayer features, and public events. However, there were divided opinions on certain aspects such as weapon categorization and some game modes. The game has been recognized with various awards.

Destiny 2 continues to evolve with regular updates, expansions, and seasonal content, offering players a vast and immersive experience in its ever-expanding universe.

Destiny 2 Trials Of Osiris Rewards This Week

This weekend, Trials of Osiris is back in Destiny 2, offering players the chance to earn top-tier gear in the time-limited PvP mode. Before diving into Saint-14's arena, it's worth checking Xur's location to see if he has any Exotic gear that can assist you. Here's what you need to know about Trials of Osiris this weekend:

  • Map: Wormhaven
  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism
  • Reputation Rank 10: The Messenger (Pulse rifle)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module
  • Reputation Rank 16: Unexpected Resurgence (Glaive)
  • Flawless Reward: The Messenger (Adept)

Additionally, Season of the Deep brings new rewards to the Trials pool, including a golden shader called Glorious Patina, a new Ghost shell, ship, and Sparrow. To obtain Glorious Patina, players must achieve a Flawless run during Season 21. The weapon pool has been updated to include The Messenger pulse rifle and the Unexpected Resurgence glaive as possible rewards.

A new emblem has been added, which requires earning a Flight of the Pigeon medal for each win and opening the Flawless chest at the Lighthouse. This season also introduces an introductory quest to provide new Trials players with a tutorial, and completing it rewards players with the Astral Horizon Trials Shotgun.

Trials Passage offerings have been improved. Passage of Wealth now grants +75 Trials reputation for each win, along with additional bonuses based on your current major rank in Trials, for a total of up to +150 reputation. Passage of Mercy forgives two losses if you haven't achieved Flawless for the week, and after going Flawless, it reverts back to forgiving a single loss on each card after reset.

The core game mode for this season's Trials is Dominion, chosen for its faster pace, varied engagements, and healthier sandbox variety. Trials weapons carry the Alacrity Origin Trait, providing increased aim assist, reload speed, stability, and range when you're the last living member of a fireteam or running solo. Alternatively, you can switch to the Crucible Origin trait, One Quiet Moment, which greatly enhances reload speed when reloading out of combat.

Trials of Osiris is available from Friday's daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET until the weekly reset at the same time on Tuesday. Remember to visit Saint-14 in the Tower to pick up a Trials card, which determines bonuses such as milestone rewards and forgiveness for losses.

Achieving a "Flawless" run by winning seven matches without any losses rewards you with a trip to the Lighthouse and special rewards, including Adept weapons with additional stat bonuses. Your Trials Passage does not track losses, allowing you to continue earning rewards even if you don't achieve a Flawless run.

What is The Trials Of Osiris Weapon This Week?

The Trials of Osiris for this week in Destiny 2 features The Messenger (Adept) pulse rifle as the weapon reward. This powerful pulse rifle is a highly sought-after weapon in the Trials of Osiris. It is a kinetic weapon, meaning it does not have an elemental damage type, and it uses primary ammo.

The Trials of Osiris event will be available to players from June 16 to June 20, 2023. During this time, players can form fireteams and participate in the competitive PvP mode for a chance to earn The Messenger (Adept) pulse rifle. It's important to note that as of the Season of the Deep (S21), there is a new requirement to play Trials of Osiris.

In an effort to combat cheating, players must own the Lightfall DLC in order to participate in the Trials of Osiris. This requirement ensures a more fair and balanced experience for all players involved in the event.

Trials Map This Week

The Trials of Osiris map featured this week in Destiny 2 is Wormhaven. Wormhaven is a Crucible map set on Titan, characterized by its tight corridors, multi-level structures, and environmental hazards. It offers a mix of close-quarters combat and long-range engagements, making it important to have a versatile loadout and adapt to various playstyles.

To maximize your chances of achieving a Flawless run or improving your win ratio in Trials of Osiris, understanding the map and positioning is crucial. Familiarize yourself with the layout of Wormhaven, paying attention to key areas, lanes, and chokepoints. Knowing the callouts for specific locations on the map can greatly enhance communication and coordination with your fireteam.
