Destiny 2 Wiki

Destiny 2 is a popular first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie, which was initially launched in 2017 as a pay-to-play game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows platforms. However, in October 2019, the game was made available for free under the New Light title, using the games-as-a-service model. It was subsequently released on Stadia in November 2019 and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms in December 2020. Originally published by Activision, Bungie acquired the publishing rights to the franchise on December 31, 2018.

The game is set in a "mythic science fiction" world and offers a multiplayer "shared-world" environment with role-playing game elements. The gameplay is divided between player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) modes and includes story missions, strikes, dungeons, raids, and a free-roam patrol mode for each destination. This mode emphasizes exploration and interaction with non-player characters (NPCs), which were only present in social spaces in the original Destiny game. The PvP mode offers objective-based and traditional deathmatch game modes.

Destiny 2 Lightfall Pre-Load Time

Destiny 2: Lightfall, an upcoming expansion for the first-person shooter video game Destiny 2 by Bungie, is set to release on February 28, 2023. As the seventh expansion and the sixth year of extended content for the game, Lightfall focuses on the exiled Cabal emperor Calus, who is now a Disciple of the Witness, along with their Shadow Legion Cabal and Tormentors, attacking the secret technologically advanced human city of Neomuna on Neptune and heading towards the Last City to bring about a second Collapse. The expansion offers new content such as missions, locations for Player versus Environment, maps for Player versus Player, player gear, weapons, and a new raid. In addition, two new dungeons and a returning raid from the original Destiny or a previously removed raid from Destiny 2 will be available throughout the year. The game will also have four seasonal content releases during Year 6, with Season of Defiance available alongside the expansion, followed by Season of the Deep in Summer 2023, and two unnamed seasons in Fall 2023 and Winter 2023-2024.

Destiny 2 Update 2.80 For PS5

Destiny 2 players on PS5 can pre-download the 92GB update for the Lightfall expansion ahead of its official release on February 28th. However, this may have been an accidental early release, as the update is causing players to be locked out a day before the scheduled downtime. Upon attempting to access the game, players are met with an error message stating that the servers are down for February 26th. Bungie has not yet provided a resolution to the issue, and it is recommended that players cancel the update until after the scheduled maintenance on February 27th. It is possible that players may need to redownload the game or use the PS4 version in the meantime. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
