Lords of the Fallen Drustan Quest Guide
In the world of Lords of the Fallen, Drustan's questline is an intriguing and poignant journey that unfolds as you progress through the game. This guide will walk you through the various stages of Drustan's questline, helping you understand his story and how to interact with him throughout the game.
Drustan and His Brother Melchior
When you first meet Drustan in the cave at Fitzroy's Gorge, he introduces himself and, interestingly, refers to you as a "lampy," just like him. He carries a peculiar lamp on his waist. Drustan believes he's become immortal with this lamp, but he's been deceived into thinking it's the real Umbral Lamp. He's on a mission to find his brother Melchior and make a bold statement by chopping his head off. Drustan shares stories of Melchior, a renowned knight who fought dragons and giants. However, he lost track of his brother after a fall. Drustan believes Melchior has been taken by their enemies. This marks the beginning of his questline.
Encounter in Lower Calrath
You'll meet Drustan again in the big building at Lower Calrath, below the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch. At this point, he's sporting a unique bucket-like helmet. Drustan shares that a "nice man with a little mustache" told him that his brother was taken by "baddies" headed to the castle. He plans to go to the castle but needs a brief rest. Drustan's faith in his brother is unwavering, and he believes Melchior will resolve their problems when found.
Journey to the Fief of the Chill Curse
In the Fief of the Chill Curse, Drustan's quest to find his brother continues. The harsh cold in the region causes him trouble, and he struggles to light a fire due to numbness. Drustan is confident that his lamp will revive him if he dies, still unaware that it's a fake. By helping him in this area, you'll assist him in his search for Melchior.
Drustan's Fate in Bramis Castle
The final chapter of Drustan's questline unfolds in Bramis Castle. You'll enter the inner section of the castle, and after battling through enemies, you'll reach a broken tower where Drustan met his end. In this location, you'll find a stigma that reveals Drustan's final moments. Watch it to learn about his fate and obtain unique items. There's also another stigma in the castle's throne room that uncovers Melchior's story.
If you missed opportunities to help Drustan earlier in the game, you'll find his remains in the gatehouse of Fief of the Chill Curse, along with valuable items.
Lords of the Fallen Gameplay
In this game, you play from a third-person view. You can use both melee weapons (like swords) and magic to fight your enemies. The way you fight in this game is similar to other games like Dark Souls, which means it's challenging. You can go through the game's story alone or with a friend. You can also compete against other players in a multiplayer mode. At the beginning of the game, you get to create your own character and pick from one of nine character types. The game world is pretty big, even bigger than the 2014 version.
The unique thing here is that there are two worlds on top of each other. One is called Axiom, where living things are, and the other is Umbral, where the dead are. You can switch between these two worlds using a special lantern. Sometimes, places that you can't reach in one world can be reached in the other.
If your character dies, they go to the Umbral world and you need to return to the Axiom world to get back the experience points you lost when you died. But if you die in Umbral, you go back to your last save point and lose the experience points you hadn't used yet. Save points are a bit rare in each area, but you can make your own save points by gathering materials from monsters in the Umbral world.
