This is a walkthrough for the first Legacy Dungeon in Elden Ring, Stormveil Castle. Your objective is to defeat Godrick the Grafted, the first shard bearer. There are two ways to enter the castle: the main gate and a side path. Both routes lead to Godrick. The side path is recommended for obtaining extra items and runes to prepare for the boss fight.
To begin, head to the left side passage and speak with the gatekeeper. From there, head up the steps and eliminate nearby enemies before entering the tower. Climb up the stairs until you reach a locked door that requires a key. Proceed to the top of the tower to find a dark room where you will battle a Banished Knight. After defeating him, take the key from the chest and open the locked door below.
Climb the ladders and move along the rafters until you're back outside. Kill the hawks on the path, which can throw explosive barrels, and head down the stairs to the nearby rooftops. Follow the path to the dining hall and defeat the Grafted Scion. Then, go through the door on the left side of the large painting and move through the next hallway to find a large soldier encampment.
Defeat the soldiers to reach the Liftside Chamber Site of Grace. Continue up the steps to the East, defeat the enemies, and then follow the path to the left. Defeat the troll and soldiers, then move through the small passageway and rest at the Secluded Cell Site of Grace. Finally, proceed through the fog wall to fight Godrick the Grafted.
After completing Stormveil Castle, you can explore the optional bosses and areas in Limgrave, such as finding the Church of Dragon Communion or defeating Bloody Finger Nerijus. When ready, proceed to Liurnia of the Lakes to continue on the main path of Elden Ring.

Navigating the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Elden Ring
To progress through Elden Ring, you need to locate the second shard bearer, Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, who resides in the Academy of Raya Lucaria. To help you navigate through the academy, follow these steps:
Firstly, obtain the Glintstone Key and use the South Raya Lucaria Gate to enter the academy. Head up the elevator, kill the sorcerers, and enter the Church of the Cuckoo to clear out the sorcerer and marionnette soldiers. Then, take the left door to find the Site of Grace and move through the graveyard, crossing over the bridge, and the narrow passage. Jump onto the spinning waterwheel and find the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace at the top.
From there, follow the corridors, taking down sorcerers on the way, until you reach the Debate Parlor, where you fight the Red Wolf of Radagon. After defeating the wolf, go outside and run to the right side of the courtyard. Use the beams to cross over to the large set of stairs, climb to the top, and defeat Carian Knight Moongrum.
Take the lift up to fight Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, who drops another Great Rune. Once you defeat her, proceed to Altus Plateau, North of Liurnia, by using the Grand Lift of Dectus or passing through the nearby Ravine. Alternatively, you can head to Caelid, the rotten lands to the East of Limgrave, to acquire another Great Rune.
Optional content in Liurnia includes completing the Testu's Rise puzzle, defeating Royal Knight Loretta in Caria Manor, starting Ranni's questline, finding the Divine Tower of Liurnia, and exploring the Ravine and defeating Magma Wyrm Makar.
Navigating Redmane Castle in Elden Ring: A Walkthrough
Redmane Castle is a Legacy Dungeon that houses the notorious Starscourge Radahn. To reach the boss fight, you need to first find a hidden entrance and make your way through the castle. Along the way, you'll encounter enemy soldiers, trolls, and flamethrowers. Once inside, follow the path North until you reach the flamethrower-filled soldier encampment. After defeating them, enter the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace, rest, and proceed through the wall of fog to battle the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight duo. After this, return to Liurnia and trigger Radahn's festival by using the Grand Lift of Dectus or the nearby Ravine to enter the Altus Plateau. Finally, head down into the Caelid wilds and defeat Radahn to earn another Great Rune.
Exploring the Picturesque Altus Plateau in Elden Ring
The Altus Plateau is a breathtaking expanse of lush fields and autumnal forests, serving as a gateway to other key regions in Elden Ring. Whether you take the ravine path or the Grand Lift of Dectus, you will enter the Altus Plateau in a similar location. While you won't find a shardbearer here, there are plenty of optional areas to explore, including the Minor Erdtree in the center of the plateau, Windmill Village in the northeast, and the decrepit Shaded Castle on the northern shoreline. Additionally, Mt. Gelmir lies to the northwest, while Leyndell, the Royal Capital, is found to the east, making the Altus Plateau an important passage to other regions that are crucial to the main quest.
Exploring Mt Gelmir in Elden Ring
Mt Gelmir is a smaller region in Elden Ring, but it's not without its challenges. To reach Mt Gelmir, head northwest from the Altus Plateau along the path until you reach the first Mt Gelmir campsite. Here, you will find a message about rainbow stones. While following the stones will trigger a cutscene, we recommend continuing along the bridge to the Ninth Mt Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace.
Once you're at the campsite, use the spirit spring to jump up and fight the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast on the cliff. After defeating this boss, use the stones jutting out of the cliff as a makeshift bridge to get closer to Volcano Manor.

Leyndell is the capital city of Elden Ring located at the foot of the Great Erdtree. To enter Leyndell, you must travel to the northeastern side of the outer wall and defeat a Draconic Tree Sentinel. Once inside, you must have defeated two of the four bosses to progress toward the Erdtree. To traverse the city, follow the main path through streets and buildings toward the Erdtree by scaling the stone dragon structure. Defeat the necessary bosses, Godfrey and Morgott, to reach the upper levels of the arena. After defeating Morgott, Melina gives you the Rold Medallion to go to the Mountaintops of the Giants. The main path continues on the Mountaintops, where you must find the Forge of Giants for Melina.

Chapel of Anticipation
The first step is to select a starting class and item of your choice from the Chapel of Anticipation. For more character statistics details, check the Stats and Attributes section. Afterward, exit the chapel and proceed downstairs to the open plaza where a large statue is present. You'll be attacked by a Grafted Scion, a boss that you can't defeat at this stage of the game.
Limgrave
The second step is to move towards Limgrave. You'll wake up in the Stranded Graveyard, and the game will automatically hand you flasks for HP and FP restoration. From there, jump down the cave that is in front of the spirit on a chair to enter the tutorial area. After completing the tutorial, head upstairs and ascend with the elevator. You'll be greeted by White-Faced Varré, who provides you with some exposition. Activate the Site of Grace, then sneak past the Tree Sentinel knight uphill to the Church of Elleh. Here, you'll find the merchant Kalé and another grace. If possible, buy the crafting kit from Kalé.
Exploring Further
Next, proceed through the forest towards the northwest, and you'll arrive at a soldier camp. Clear it or skip it, then pick up the Limgrave Map at the street and activate the nearby Gatefront Ruins grace. Melina will show up. Simply accept her accord since you can't beat the game without it. Melina will give you the Spectral Steed Whistle for Torrent.
After that, use Torrent to travel southeast along the road up until you hear an NPC speak. That NPC is Boc, camouflaged as a bush. Attack or roll into the bush and talk to Boc, who will tell you about a cave at the shore southwest of the Church where you met Kale.
Crossing the Lake
Proceed further east, across the bridge that is going to be occupied by a Night's Cavalry. Either wait until morning at a grace or sneak past it because it is unlikely that you can defeat it yet. Follow the road down until you see a bunch of ruins on a hill to the northeast. Make your way past the giant plants and down into the cellar, where there is a Mad Pumpkin Head miniboss. Defeat it and activate the grace. In the room at the end of the cellar is Sellen. You can buy some sorcery Spells from her if you need any, but it's preferable to spend your Runes on leveling up.
Proceed further down the road to the southern end of the lake. There will be the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace at the foot of the hill, not far from where there is a Teardrop Scarab with the Ash of War: Unsheathe in the lake. Travel west to the large ruin. Beneath it is Bloody Finger Hunter Yura, who warns you of a dragon in the lake. Cross the lake, but avoid the dragon by sticking to the cliff on the west end of the lake. Travel all the way northwest in the lake to the mining cave.
Defeating Minibosses
Clear the entire mining cave. The yellow stones on the walls are free Smithing Stones, so pick them up. At the end of the cave is a Stonedigger Troll miniboss. Defeat it, then warp back to the Church of Elleh, and use the anvil there to upgrade your weapon to +3. If you missed some Smithing Stone 1s in the cave, you can buy a few more from the

Ainsel River
To explore Ainsel River, warp back down to "The Nameless Eternal City" grace and take the coffin elevator. From there, touch the first grace you come across and warp back to Ranni's Rise. After that, ride north to Renna's Rise and obtain the Snow Witch Robe from a treasure chest. Then, take the gateway portal and grab Miniature Ranni from a coffin. Finally, sit at the grace and select the "Talk to Miniature Ranni" option repeatedly until Ranni starts talking back to you.
Clear the entire Ainsel River area by either heading straight to Nokstella, Eternal City, or defeating the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella first for some runes and a sorcery Spell. You can fight your way through Nokstella, Eternal City, for a Golden Seed, some Larval Tears, and Moon of Nokstella. Alternatively, follow the river to the north and take the elevator down. Defeat the Baleful Shadow invader and Ranni will award you with the Discarded Palace Key. Take another elevator down to reach the Lake of Rot.
Stock up on Preserving Boluses by crafting them. You can fight the Dragonkin Soldier and Alabaster Lord for the Alabaster Lord's Sword and Dragonscale Blade or loot the place and move south to the Grand Cloister grace. Jump down the platforms from the Grand Cloister grace. There is an optional Tree Spirit boss in the river of rot. You can also skip it and move to the end of the river, where there is a coffin in front of a waterfall. Hop into the coffin to progress to the area boss, Astel Naturalborn of the Void.
Touch the grace after defeating the boss and warp back to the Academy's Grand Library with Queen Rennala. Pick up the Dark Moon Ring and warp back to Astel's boss arena. Continue to the elevator, which takes you to the Moonlight Altar. Move uphill to the Cathedral of Manus Celes and defeat Glintstone Dragon Adula. Touch the grace in the cathedral.
You can then do some optional content, such as the fight against Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader that awards you the Mimic Tear-level Black Knife Tiche summon, the Ranni's Dark Moon turtle puzzle, and some optional dragon fights for Dragon Hearts and the Cerulean Amber Medallion +2.
To finish Ranni's quest, jump down into the hole at the Cathedral of Manus Celes and interact with Ranni's puppet body in front of the slain Two-Fingers.
Dragonbarrow
Warp to the Church of the Plague in Caelid and ride north uphill until you find the Spiritspring Jump. Jump up on top of the giant white skull and loot the bodies there for some free Smithing Stone 7s. Then continue north towards Fort Faroth and kill the giant sleeping dragon. It will drop over 50,000 Runes, and you can accelerate the process by using a bleed weapon. You can also farm this dragon indefinitely by riding back to the grace just as it dies and rest before it drops the Dragon Heart. This gives you all the Runes, but not the Dragon Heart, causing the dragon to respawn.

Mt. Gelmir
To begin exploring Mt. Gelmir in "The Game," you'll need to warp to the Altus Plateau and head west until you reach the Lux Ruins. Here, you'll find a Golden Seed and the "Erdtree-Gazing Hill" grace. Speak to Millicent at the grace, then head to the Lux Ruins and talk to Rya if you haven't already done so.
Rya will teleport you to the Volcano Manor, where you'll need to speak to Tanith and accept her offer to join the manor. Make sure to grab the Drawing-Room Key from her and open all the doors, collecting all the items inside. You'll then need to go upstairs and fight Inquisitor Ghiza to get Ghiza's Wheel.
If you need more Smithing Stones, head back outside to the Erdtree-Grazing Hill grace and ride north through the ravine until you find the Old Altus Tunnel. Clear it for some Smithing Stones, or head up to the Bridge of Iniquity for Smithing Stone 6s.
Once you're ready, travel alongside the Seethewater River in the ravine further northwest of the Erdtree-Gazing Hill. Clear Fort Laiedd and defeat the Magma Wyrm to get the Prelate's Inferno Crozier. Talk to Iron Fist Alexander to get the Jar helmet, then ride south to the Hermit's Shack. Defeat the Demi-Human Queen miniboss and talk to Glintstone Sorcerer Azur for the Comet Azur sorcery.
Take a detour to do Sellen's quest. Meet her in the Waypoint Ruins and get the key to Lusat's seal. Then head to the Church of the Plague in Caelid and use Margit's Shackle to find the Sellia Hideaway cave. Find Lusat to get Stars of Ruin and the Crystal Torrent Spell.
Return to Sellen and have her send you to the Witchbane Ruins in the Weeping Peninsula. Talk to her to get Sellen's Primal Glintstone, then warp to Ranni's Rise to search for Seluvis's hideout. Put Sellen's glintstone into the new body, then travel to Queen Rennala in the Academy and choose who to aid, Sellen or Jerren.
Complete the Volcano Manor assassination quest in Limgrave and return to the manor. Talk to everyone again, then take the next set of missions. Head to the Old Altus Tunnel and travel north towards the Shaded Castle. Explore the castle to find the Valkyrie's Prosthesis for Millicent, then defeat Elemer of the Briar. Do Patches's Volcano Manor mission by killing Great Horned Tragoth.
Leyndell, Royal Capital
To explore Leyndell Royal Capital in "The Game," warp to the merchant's shack near the battlegrounds where you fought Margit the Fell Omen. Wait until night-time and reload the area to fight the Bell Bearing Hunter. Then ride northeast to fight the Death Rite Bird and the Draconic Tree Sentinel. Enter the capital and talk to Boc and Melina at the second grace. Fight your way to the main street where an Erdtree Avatar appears.
Head to the Avenue Balcony grace, where the area branches out. Follow the main street or climb down a well to the sewers, or climb up the giant stone dragon's wing to find the Fortified Manor and the Erdtree Sanctuary.
