Eternal

Eternal is a free-to-play online collectible card game that can be played on various devices like iOS, Android, Xbox One, PC (via Steam), and Nintendo Switch. In this game, players engage in turn-based card battles using custom decks, aiming to reduce their opponent's health to zero. Winning matches and completing quests earn in-game rewards, including new cards and packs. Players can obtain cards by purchasing card packs or participating in card drafting modes using in-game gold or real money.

The game offers different play modes, including ranked matches and single-player campaigns, and regularly introduces new content in the form of card sets and gameplay updates through expansion packs and campaigns.

Eternal Gameplay

Eternal Return gameplay revolves around duels between two opponents, which can be either Player vs. Player or Player vs. a computer-controlled opponent. Each player utilizes decks with different card compositions, including units, attachments, powers, and spells.

The primary objective is to either reduce your opponent's health pool from 25 to zero or exhaust their card resources. It's a strategic battle of wits and deck management, where players make tactical decisions to outmaneuver their opponents and emerge victorious.

Eternal Development

The development of Eternal Return began with its announcement in January 2016 at PAX South, followed by a closed beta starting in April of the same year. After a closed beta reset in November 2016, open beta commenced, with closed beta players receiving free card packs based on their collection size.

The game remained in "Early Access" on Steam until November 2018. The development team at Dire Wolf Digital included notable figures from the Magic: The Gathering community, such as Luis Scott-Vargas, Patrick Chapin, Conley Woods, Andrew Baeckstrom, Patrick Sullivan, and Josh Utter-Leyton.

The game's iPad client was initially released in Australia and Canada in June 2017 and later became available worldwide.
