Genshin Impact overview

miHoYo developed and published Genshin Impact, an action role-playing game that was released in 2020 for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and Windows, and in 2021 for PlayStation 5. It is also set for release on Nintendo Switch. Genshin Impact offers an open-world anime-style environment and an action-based battle system that utilizes elemental magic and character-switching. The game is free-to-play and uses gacha game mechanics to monetize by allowing players to obtain new characters and weapons. The game is expanded regularly through patches as a service model.

The story of Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven nations, each of which is connected to a different element and ruled by a different god. The protagonist of the story is the Traveler, who has traveled across countless worlds with their twin sibling before being separated in Teyvat. The Traveler travels with their companion Paimon in search of the lost sibling and becomes involved in the affairs of Teyvat's nations.

Development of Genshin Impact began in 2017, and the game received generally positive reviews. Critics praised the game's combat mechanics and immersive open world, but criticized its simplistic endgame and monetization model. The game was a financial success, with a revenue of over $3 billion in its first year, the highest for any video game. As of March 2022, it had earned more than $4 billion.

Genshin Impact update 3.6 release date

The highly-anticipated version 3.6 update for Genshin Impact has been recently announced, and players are excited to experience the new content that will be added to the game. This update includes new banners and events that players can participate in using Primogems, a valuable in-game currency. While the official release date has not been announced yet, it is expected that the update will be launched at 11:00 am (UTC+8) on April 12, 2023.

To ensure that the update is seamless and error-free, the developers will perform server maintenance before the actual release. This maintenance usually takes place at 6:00 am (UTC+8) on April 12, 2023, and lasts for about five hours. During this time, players will be unable to access their accounts. However, to make up for the inconvenience caused by the downtime, players will be compensated with approximately 300 Primogems, which will be sent directly to their in-game mail.

It's worth noting that the new update will be released after the current Phase II banners are taken down, making it a perfect time for players to spend their Primogems on new banners and participate in new events. With the exciting new content and the compensation for the server downtime, Genshin Impact fans have much to look forward to on April 12, 2023.

One of the major attractions of the upcoming patch update for Genshin Impact is the abundance of content, including the highly anticipated character banners. The 3.6 livestream, which was held recently, officially announced all of the 5-star characters that will appear on the upcoming banners. Based on the official news, the first half of the 3.6 banner will feature one character debut and three 5-star reruns.

The Phase I banners for the Genshin Impact 3.6 update are scheduled to drop on April 12, 2023, the same day as the version update release date. These banners will remain available for 21 days before being replaced by the Phase II banners. The first half of the banners will feature two characters: Nahida (Dendro) on "Physic of Purity" and Nilou (Hydro) on "Dance of Lotuslight." These are both officially announced characters and are shown in an image released by HoYoverse.

Moving on to the second half of the banners, the Phase II banners will feature Baizhu (Dendro) on "Beyond Mortality" and Ganyu (Cryo) on "Plenilune Gaze." Interestingly, Kaveh, a brand new 4-star character, will have a boosted drop rate on the aforementioned banners. He's currently the only 4-star character that has been officially confirmed to be featured in the new banners. Recent leaks have also revealed all of the materials needed for the new characters that are scheduled to debut, allowing players to start pre-farming the necessities that are currently available in the latest update.
