Glass Ending Explained
Dr. Staples believes she has successfully completed her job and receives praise from her colleagues. However, while at the comic book store, she overhears a conversation between two individuals who mention that a true mastermind always sets up others and has a real plan. This remark triggers Dr. Staples' concern, prompting her to rush back to the institution to check the safety of the camera recordings.
Unfortunately, the engineer informs her that the videos were being streamed to a private website. In that moment, she realizes that Mr. Glass has manipulated and deceived her, leading her to break down and scream in frustration. Mrs. Price, Joseph, and Casey manage to obtain copies of the recordings. Working together, they release the footage to the world, causing it to spread to people's devices and eventually reach the news.
Glass Plot
David Dunn, also known as the Overseer, and his son Joseph locate the Horde, a group of personalities within Kevin, at an abandoned factory. The Horde has taken four cheerleaders hostage to be fed to their superhuman personality called the Beast. Dunn manages to rescue the cheerleaders but confronts the Beast before being captured by Dr. Ellie Staple.
Staple is revealed to be part of a secret organization that aims to convince individuals who believe they have superhuman abilities that they are actually delusional. They are taken to a facility where Elijah Price, also known as Mr. Glass, is being held.
Dunn and Kevin are placed in separate rooms designed to exploit their weaknesses: water for Dunn and light flashes for Kevin.
Staple tries to convince them that their powers are illusions, but Mrs. Price, Joseph, and Casey Cooke attempt to prove the existence of superhumans without success. As part of a final evaluation, Staple challenges them with rational explanations for their abilities. Elijah remains unresponsive while David and some of Kevin's personalities become distressed.
During the night, Elijah escapes and conducts research on Dunn and the Horde. He pretends to be sedated and plans to escape with the Beast's help. Elijah sabotages a procedure performed on him, kills his caretaker, and frees Kevin. He convinces David to break out of his room by revealing a plan for the Beast to expose himself at the opening of a new skyscraper, Osaka Tower, while Elijah destroys a chemical lab inside, potentially causing mass casualties.
Mrs. Price, Casey, and Joseph arrive at the facility as Elijah, Kevin, and David escape. Staple calls the authorities to apprehend the superhumans. David and the Beast fight in the facility's parking lot until Elijah reveals David's weakness to water. Joseph reveals that Kevin's father died in a train wreck caused by Elijah, provoking the Beast to mortally wound Elijah.
David is thrown into a water storage tank but manages to break through, flooding the area. Casey successfully brings Kevin's original personality back, but he is fatally shot by a sniper. Casey holds him as he dies.
A SWAT officer tries to drown David in a pothole, but Staple reveals her affiliation with a secret organization that has suppressed superhumans for centuries. However, she overhears a conversation about super-genius masterminds and realizes Elijah had a secret plan. She discovers that the fight was live-streamed and the footage is released to the public, exposing the existence of superhumans. Staple's organization is defeated, and the truth is revealed.
