Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a cool action RPG made by Cygames, part of the Granblue Fantasy series. It hit the scene on February 1, 2024, playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. Critics gave it a thumbs up for its awesome gameplay.
The developers, Cygames, did a great job, and it's published by Cygames in Japan, Xseed Games in North America, Plaion in Europe/Australia, and Nuuvem in Latin America. The brains behind it are directors Tetsuya Fukuhara and Yasuyuki Kaji, with producer Koichi Haruta and artist Hideo Minaba.
The music, handled by Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, adds an extra layer of awesomeness. It's part of the Granblue Fantasy series and lets you dive into action on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. Released on February 1, 2024, it's an action RPG that you can enjoy solo or with friends.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Gameplay
In Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you're in for an adventure in the Sky Realm, a world full of floating islands. As the captain of a skyfaring crew, you team up with a dragon named Vyrn and a mysterious girl named Lyria. Together, you sail with a bunch of interesting characters, kings, and other unique folks, all heading towards Estalucia, a legendary island beyond the skies.
The gameplay is exciting with real-time combat involving a team of four characters. You get to choose from a bunch of skyfarers, each having cool weapons and skills. Team up with your crew to pull off Link Attacks and Chain Bursts, making battles super cool. You can play solo or team up with three friends for 4-player co-op action, taking down tough enemies and grabbing awesome loot.
Not a fan of fast-paced combat? No worries! There are assist modes for all skill levels, and you can even toggle Full Assist for automatic actions in battles. Dive into the Sky Realm's lore through Lyria's journal, and explore the backstories of your crew members with Fate Episodes. It's a thrilling journey with loads of quests and epic battles!
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Development
Granblue Fantasy: Relink underwent an intriguing development journey. Initially dubbed Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link in August 2016, the game was a collaborative effort between PlatinumGames and Cygames. Featuring notable talents like composers Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, as well as artist Hideo Minaba, the game was set to launch in 2018 on PlayStation 4, as announced during Sony's Tokyo Game Show in September 2016.
The first glimpse of gameplay was showcased at GranBlue Fes 2017, revealing exciting features like four-person cooperative multiplayer and a single-player mode with three AI characters. In December 2018, the game officially became Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
However, by February 2019, PlatinumGames stepped back, leaving Cygames to spearhead the rest of the development. The release faced delays, initially aimed for 2018, then rescheduled to 2022 and 2023 before ultimately landing on February 1, 2024. A playable demo preceded the full release on January 11, 2024, offering fans a taste of the highly anticipated action RPG.
