According to Chief Deputy Coroner Francis Dutrow, both Brady Mann and Heidi Herzog were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash due to blunt force injuries. While it was reported that Mann was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, it was still under investigation whether Herzog was wearing one. The collision happened as the pickup truck was making a left turn into the Clark Shoes Distribution Center located at 355 Kindig Lane.
The truck driver's identity was withheld by Conewago Township Police Chief Gary Baumgardner, as the investigation was still ongoing. The driver was transported to a York hospital for treatment.
