Hijack Episode 7 Recap

In Hijack Episode 7, the mysterious woman who approaches the cockpit is revealed to be Amanda (Holly Aird), who received a text message prompting her actions. Sam (Idris Elba) realizes that Stuart (Neil Maskell) is unfamiliar with her, and as passengers become furious and attack the hijackers, chaos erupts.

Amidst the turmoil, Sam takes control of the situation using Stuart's loaded gun to calm things down. He announces that the hijack is over, redirecting their anger toward a bigger threat. However, confusion arises as Stuart denies Amanda's connection to their group.

On the ground, Alice (Eve Myles) struggles to contact the plane while the anti-terrorist unit investigates the possibility of a 'bear raid' scheme. This theory suggests the hijack is meant to affect Kingdom Airlines' market shares negatively, with potential financial gains for the perpetrators.

The plane's intentional deviation towards London prompts intense discussions about shooting it down to avoid endangering the city. Louise (Hattie Morahan) sees this as a warning for a possible crash and opposes the idea of harming innocent passengers. As Sam seeks to understand Amanda's motives, he realizes she wants to reunite with her family. However, she cuts off communication, and passengers notice the plane's change in direction.

Stuart explains that he confiscated passengers' phones to prevent communication with the ground, but after they retrieve them, Sam speaks to Alice cryptically about the situation. Recognizing the truth, Alice informs the ATU that Amanda is flying the plane. Due to Louise's advice, the jets avoid engaging with the plane, temporarily saving lives.

Meanwhile, Edgar Janssen (Simon McBurney) remains focused on Kingdom Airline's stock price, which leads to a violent confrontation orchestrated by John Bailey-Brown (Ian Burfield). Alec (Justin Salinger) approaches the cockpit, revealing his role in arranging the deal for the criminals. Sam learns about Amanda's daughter, Elodie, and uses this to build rapport.

Furious passengers attempt to breach the cockpit, but Sam manages to establish a dialogue with Amanda. He empathizes with her situation as a parent and gains her trust. Amanda reveals that she'll be instructed to land once the hijackers confirm the deal's completion.

If not, she's ordered to crash the plane in London. Sam enters the cockpit and persuades her to cooperate by highlighting their shared desire to protect their families. Meanwhile, Daniel (Mak Beesley) seeks Marsha's (Christine Adams) safety, who confirms Kai (Jude Cudjoe) is likely at Sam's house. Suspicious events lead Daniel to rush to find Kai, ultimately leading to his rescue as officers apprehend the captors.

Hijack Episode 7 Ending Explained

In the concluding moments of Hijack Episode 7, once Sam successfully enters the cockpit, he initiates a call with Alice to guide her in landing the plane. With Amanda's assistance, Sam relays crucial flight details and explains Amanda's actions, revealing that she shot the captain to protect her family under threat.

Neil, the Home Secretary, assures Amanda that she won't face charges, making her feel secure. This paves the way for Amanda to share flight particulars with the ground. However, the plane suddenly loses power, creating chaos onboard. An elderly passenger appeals for calm among the travelers.

Despite initial challenges, flight KA29 manages to land, averting the planned crash in the city. Although the connection with flight control is severed, they've at least touched down safely. Sam communicates with Alice, confirming their landing. Passengers and hijackers disembark one by one, leading to the arrests of Alec, Jaden, Terry, and Jamie by the authorities.

However, Sam remains on the plane, noticing that Stuart is no longer restrained and has his phone in the cockpit. Recognizing the danger, Sam sends a text to Marsha, apologizing. In a strategic move, Sam prompts Stuart to speak, using Marsha's call as a distraction.

This diversion buys him time to neutralize Stuart. Authorities apprehend Stuart, and Sam seizes his phone before leaving the plane. With the crisis coming to an end, the episode concludes with the successful resolution of the hijacking and the arrest of the perpetrators.
