To find substories in Like a Dragon Gaiden, you'll first meet a character named Akame. She has a bunch of interesting side missions for you. But before she gives them to you, you need to finish some easy tasks called Stroll 'n' Patrol missions. In the game Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, players take on the role of Kazuma Kiryu and explore the Sotenbori district in Osaka. Additionally, parts of the Isezaki Ijincho district in Yokohama, a familiar location from Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Lost Judgment, are also accessible during certain parts of the story.
The Castle, another location, serves as a central area for various side activities. The game brings back popular minigames like karaoke, Pocket Circuit racing, the cabaret club, and a fighting arena. A new character, Akame, acts as an informant and provides Kiryu with sub-missions.
