Archive a chat or group

1. In the Chats tab, swipe left on the chat or group you want to archive.
2. Tap Archive.

You can archive all chats at once in WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Archive All Chats.

1. Scroll to the top of the Chats tab.
2. Tap Archived Chats.

UnArchive Chats On Whatsapp

1. In the Archived Chats screen, swipe left on the chat or group you want to unarchive.
2. Tap Unarchive.

You can manually unarchive a chat by searching for a contact name or message from that contact:

1. In the Chats tab, tap the Search bar.
2. Enter the name of chat or content from the chat you want to unarchive.
3. Swipe left on chat you want to unarchive.
4. Tap Unarchive.

How To See Archived Chats On Whatsapp? 

Android 

• When you open WhatsApp, you'll notice the "Archived" tab located at the bottom of your regular chat list. 
• Click on it to access all of your archived messages.

iPhone 

• Upon opening WhatsApp, you'll notice the "Archived" tab located at the top of the screen, above the "New Group" and "Broadcast" options. 
• Simply click on "Archived" to access all of your archived messages.

What Is The Definition Of Archive Chat? 

Archiving a chat, as mentioned before, allows you to hide a person or group chat from the main chat screen. This helps to better organize your chats and provides a cleaner look on your screen, enabling you to focus on important conversations. You can now find your archived chats at the top of your chat list instead of the previous bottom position. It's important to note that archiving an individual or group chat won't delete the chat or group. Additionally, archived chats will automatically unarchive when you receive a new message from the chat. • You won't receive notifications from archived chats unless someone mentions you.
• Archiving a chat doesn't mean backing up or deleting it.
• No one will know if you have archived their chat.
• You can still view messages in archived chats.

Former Yahoo! company employees Brian Acton and Jan Koum created the WhatsApp app. The app WhatsApp was not designed for only being a texting service.
