Mastering Thunderclaw Confrontation in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth with Poison Strategy
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, facing the formidable Thunderclaw becomes a more manageable challenge by employing a strategic approach, especially with Red XIII in your party, equipped with the Poison Materia. Follow these steps to efficiently deal with Thunderclaw:
Ensure Red XIII has the Poison Materia equipped, available as soon as he joins your party.
If you've removed the Poison Materia, consider assigning it to another party member if Red XIII is not your preferred choice.
Engage Thunderclaw using any character, then switch to Red XIII during the battle.
Build up Red XIII's ATB bar by evading attacks and strategically managing your party.
Once the ATB bar is charged, unleash the Bio/Poison magic attack on Thunderclaw. This should induce the pressured state, making the foe more vulnerable.
If the pressured state isn't achieved immediately, continue hitting Thunderclaw with Bio attacks.
Maintain the assault to eventually force Thunderclaw into a staggered state, maximizing your party's damage output.
Aside from handling Thunderclaw, ensure you complete the secondary quest tasks, such as defeating all enemies within the time limit.
If any task proves challenging, hold the Triangle Button in the area to respawn enemies, granting you the opportunity to try again.
Utilize Red XIII's Poison Materia:
Switch to Red XIII During the Fight:
Execute Bio/Poison Magic Attack:
Persistence and Staggering:
Complete Additional Quest Tasks:
Retry Option:
By incorporating the Poison Materia strategy with Red XIII, you can effectively navigate the Thunderclaw encounter, enhancing your chances of success in this exciting side quest within Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gameplay
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second installment in a trilogy remaking the classic 1997 PlayStation game, picks up the story right after the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020). Following the escape from Midgar, players take control of Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who joins the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE. The central conflict revolves around thwarting Shinra's exploitation of the Planet's life energy and facing the resurrected SOLDIER Sephiroth.
Similar to its predecessor, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth combines real-time exploration and combat, showcasing a more expansive overworld than the linear Midgar progression in Remake. The game introduces objective markers in the heads-up display, guiding players through main story quests and sidequests, each marked with distances in the overworld. Additionally, the party can traverse the world on Chocobos, offering a faster means of travel by utilizing specialized Chocobo Lure Materia.
Rebirth further develops the hybrid combat system, blending action-focused melee combat with the Active-Time Battle (ATB) system. Players control a party of characters, freely switching between them during gameplay. The combat mechanics involve physical attacks, magic, and item usage for offense, defense, and recovery.
The "Synergized" mechanic, initially introduced in the "Episode INTERmission" DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (2021), makes a return, allowing party members to synchronize attacks at the expense of slower ATB bar filling.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Synopsis
After the last game's events, Zack Fair arrives in Midgar with a sleeping Cloud. The world is in danger due to the Planet's mako being used up. Shinra has captured Barrett and Tifa, while Red XIII saved Aerith but vanished. Zack hides Cloud and Aerith in Elmyra's house and finds Biggs, the only surviving member of Avalanche. Biggs is from another time and warns Zack about Sephiroth's threat to Aerith's life.
In Cloud's past, he reveals to his friends about Sephiroth's madness five years ago in their hometown of Nibelheim. Sephiroth, learning he's made from Jenova's cells, sets Nibelheim ablaze, Cloud's mother and Tifa's father among the casualties. Cloud, however, doesn't recall what happened next.
Tifa tells Aerith she doesn't remember Cloud being there. Shinra's forces raid Kalm, pushing the group to chase "black robes" connected to Sephiroth. Along the way, they recruit new members like Yuffie and Cid, and discover the Planet's guardians, the Weapons.
As they journey, the party learns about Sephiroth's plan to summon Meteor and rule over a fused paradise. Cloud hands over the Black Materia to Sephiroth unwittingly. A fierce battle ensues, involving Cloud, Sephiroth, and Zack. Aerith attempts to stop Sephiroth's scheme but is seemingly killed. Sephiroth retreats, and the party mourns Aerith. Cloud, holding the Black Materia, sets off to confront Sephiroth, while an alternate Aerith stays behind to find a way to stop Meteor.
