Digimon World -next order, stylized as Digimon World: Next Order, is a role-playing video game that belongs to the Digimon franchise and is the sixth installment in the Digimon World series. Developed by B.B. Studio and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game initially launched for PlayStation Vita in Japan on March 17, 2016. Subsequently, it was released for PlayStation 4 in North America and PAL regions in January 2017, followed by a release in Japan on February 26, 2017, under the name Digimon World: Next Order International Edition. Recently, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows versions of the game were released on February 22, 2023.

Digimon World: Next Order is a role-playing game that takes place in an expansive open world, viewed from a third-person perspective, where players are in charge of a human character accompanied by two Digimon partners. At the start of the game, the player chooses one of ten possible starting partners, which then grow and evolve as the story progresses, primarily by participating in battles and interacting with their owner. In case the partner does not meet the necessary requirements for its next stage of evolution within a specific time, it collapses, dies, and gets reborn as an egg, with its stats slightly boosted. The player can improve the bond between themselves and their Digimon partners through various actions, such as praising, scolding, feeding, or offering items. Together, they explore different environments, complete objectives, interact with non-player characters, and battle enemy Digimon they come across in the field.
During combat, when the player touches an enemy creature, the battle takes place in real-time, with a circular-shaped arena where the Digimon partners move around freely. The companion Digimon act automatically according to an assigned AI strategy, while the player can pause the battle to issue commands or use restorative items. Players can switch between their two partners during battles to give specific orders or to initiate a special evolution where both Digimon temporarily merge. After a battle, the stats of the Digimon partners increase, making them stronger. The Japanese version of the game has 217 obtainable Digimon creatures, with 15 additional creatures included in the western version, totaling 232. The localized Nintendo Switch version removed the option to play with Japanese voices.
