Series one was truly inspiring and presented a wonderful chance for me to showcase my interior design skills and tackle the most significant interior design challenges. The variety of briefs that the designers encountered and the incredible schemes they created left me feeling enthusiastic. This opportunity seemed ideal for me to elevate my passion for interiors and make it my primary business. Being a mother for 16 years meant that my career had to take a back seat, but now was the perfect time for me to pursue something for myself, and I was motivated to make my children proud.
Barbara
According to Barbara, she had established her interior design business two years prior while on maternity leave with her first child. At that time, her focus was mainly on residential projects. Upon watching the show, she was thrilled that the designers were given the chance to work on commercial properties, including hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, and offices. These were precisely the types of projects that she was interested in working on.
Charlotte
Charlotte explains that she had reached a point in her textile career where she wanted to be challenged further as a designer and work on more interiors and product development-based projects. However, it wasn't always feasible for her to allocate extra time and money for passion projects and professional growth. Jon admits that he never had a desire to appear on television. However, he was so excited about Interior Design Masters that it gave him an adrenaline rush, and he felt a strong urge to participate.
