God of War Ragnarok

"God of War Ragnarok" is a video game where you follow Kratos and his son, Atreus, on an adventure based on Norse mythology. It's the ninth game in the series and a sequel to the 2018 God of War. Set in ancient Scandinavia, it explores the idea of Ragnarok, a big event in Norse mythology.

The gameplay is similar to the 2018 game, focusing on combat, puzzles, and role-playing. Kratos has new weapons like a magical spear, and his shield is more versatile. Atreus helps in fights and even has missions where you control him. The game was delayed a bit because of the actor who plays Kratos getting sick and COVID-19 affecting development. It got amazing reviews for its story, characters, visuals, and gameplay improvements. It sold a lot of copies in its first week and won several awards. Plus, there's a DLC called Valhalla coming out, continuing the story after Ragnarok.

Is Helios in God of War Ragnarok?

Yes, Helios shows up in the God of War Valhalla DLC, but it's more like Kratos imagining him. There's a part where Kratos talks with the Sun God, but it's not actually real. This might spoil things if you want to know more about the story.

In God of War 3, Kratos takes Helios' head to use its light. In the Valhalla maze, Mimir's head turns into Helios for a bit. You hear Helios' voice earlier, but this part brings back the Sun God's head fully.

Later in the God of War Ragnarok DLC, Kratos figures out it's actually just Mimir's head, and he's tricking himself. He almost sets Mimir on fire, thinking Helios is scolding him about sacrifices. Even in death, Helios still causes trouble for Kratos and his guilty feelings.

Helios isn't the only reminder of Kratos' Greek past. Lots of places in the DLC recreate important moments from the earlier games, and there are some old weapons like the Blades of Chaos. To really understand it all, you'll have to explore it yourself.

God of War Ragnarok Gameplay

In "God of War Ragnarok," you play as Kratos, a tough guy battling all sorts of mythological creatures in a third-person view. The game is set in Norse mythology, and Kratos has cool weapons like the Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, each with special powers.

There's a new weapon called the Draupnir Spear, too! You can upgrade these weapons for extra abilities. The shield got an upgrade too, so it can be used for defense or offense. Kratos' son, Atreus, helps out in fights and solving puzzles. In some parts, you can even play as Atreus, using his bow and magical skills. The game has RPG elements like crafting and side quests, and they made it more accessible for different types of players. It's an epic adventure with lots of action!

God of War Ragnarok Plot

In "God of War Ragnarok," Kratos and Atreus go on a big adventure in Norse mythology. They face off against gods, deal with prophecies, and have a lot of fights and drama. Atreus discovers a prophecy saying he might play a huge role in the end of the world, Ragnarok. This causes tension between him and Kratos. Along the way, they team up with Freya and others, but some friends turn out to be enemies in disguise.

The story builds up to a massive battle to stop Ragnarok. Allies join in, like a giant snake and other powerful beings. They clash with Odin and Surtr, fighting to prevent the world from ending. The game wraps up with an emotional moment between Kratos and Atreus, where they realize they can control their own destiny. Finally, there's a touching funeral for a beloved character, marking the end of their journey.
