The movie Life might be an imagination of the political debate between president bush and senator dole in the 1996 San Diego debate on the War on drugs and its effect on American society as a whole with regard to incarceration. But on the ground America also has the longest list of incarcerated inmates in its prison the longest one being Francis Clifford Smith from June 1950 till 2020 serving 70 years for murder and robbery. So, we can assume that real-life incarceration stories at the time inspired the story writers of this movie. but, the movie Life(1999) was not based on a true story but a kind of ode to incarcerated inmates in prison.

Life movie Review

The Movie Life(1999) was about the story of wrongly convicted inmates ray Gibson, and Claude Banks both of who spent their time in prison until their pardons they were forced to accept prison life as their only social life. They have also tried to escape but in vain. The story feels like normal prison life, not an eerie dark one who had to endure it. Every movie conveys structural ideas in either a straightforward manner or subliminal stories. The main idea is life in prison so to speak for black African Americans. If we have put the glass of a postmodern world then the idea of prison as an institution for wrongdoers or committing a crime/sin that is not acceptable to society as a whole. Then the idea behind the prison in the foresight was of convicted inmates need to take time off from society to get a self-reflection by looking at the prison walls or by talking to the next inmate to get reflection then it won’t happen. Sometimes wrong conviction also leads to violent human behavior. but this movie does handle that better being angry is more like being good a kind of status symbol these days. but it also conveys a strong subliminal structural idea in a prison too there is social life one can enjoy so don't worry if have done wrong. And rekindle your life if get parole or exoneration. Always turn a good life like a tree leaf does every spring.
