Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, Firaxis Games' Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game that features a diverse cast of characters from various Marvel Comics properties, including Midnight Sons, Avengers, X-Men, and Runaways. The game allows players to customize their own superhero named "The Hunter" with a choice of more than 40 different powers.
Announced at the virtual Gamescom 2021 event in August, Marvel's Midnight Suns was subsequently released on December 2, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, with plans to launch versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at a later date. Despite receiving generally favorable reviews, the game was commercially unsuccessful.
Marvel's Midnight Suns 1.007 Update
Version 1.007.000 of Marvel Midnight Suns is now being rolled out on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with the official patch notes indicating that the update includes the addition of Deadpool to the game's roster, as well as a number of other adjustments and modifications. Despite a previous significant update that introduced new features and addressed bugs, numerous players have continued to encounter problems while playing the game. However, the latest version of Marvel Midnight Suns, version 1.007, aims to address some of these issues.
The first DLC for Marvel's Midnight Suns, titled "The Good, the Bad, and the Undead," is now available*, and brings Deadpool to the game's roster** along with a tempting Food Truck upgrade for the Abbey.
The DLC includes new story missions where the Hunter comes to Deadpool's aid after he fails to liberate a powerful artifact from Red Skull's collection and runs into Hydra forces as well as some ferocious vampyres. To access Deadpool's story missions, players must first complete the "Spidermaaaans" story mission and witness Spider-Man's unmasking in the Abbey during the base game's first act.
Deadpool's storyline is separate from the main game's events, but once players complete the new "A Man of Culture" mission and he joins the Midnight Suns, they can add him to any mission when assembling a team. Players can also customize Deadpool's appearance with various options, such as 3 additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 3 Swimsuits.
