The game draws inspiration from a limited comic book series called 'Contest of Champions,' using its storyline and characters to create engaging gameplay. Additionally, in 2019, they expanded the gaming experience by introducing an arcade version of the Marvel Contest of Champions. However, this arcade version is exclusive to Dave & Buster's locations, making it a unique and immersive experience for fans of the game.
