Memories of Bali Ending Explained
At the end of "Memories of Bali," Jae Min regains his senses and rushes to Soo Jung, devastated by the consequences of his actions. Soo Jung's final words to him are, "I love you." Tragically, she passes away. Overwhelmed by grief, Jae Min goes to a picturesque beach during sunset where he breaks down in tears and ultimately takes his own life with the gun.
The irony lies in the fact that despite everything Jae Min had put Soo Jung through, she still loved him. She attempted to love In Wook and make the best decisions for herself, but she couldn't find true happiness. Just as she had decided to return to Jae Min, he appears and ends up causing the deaths of Soo Jung, In Wook, and ultimately himself.
The ending of the drama stays true to its focus on tragedy, as the characters endure one misfortune after another. It feels fitting for the story to culminate in a double murder and suicide, devoid of any happiness for these individuals.
