Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay

"Mortal Kombat 1" offers various gameplay features for players. It includes a story mode, online multiplayer with rollback netcode, and offline gameplay. The game introduces Kameo Fighters, assisting players during fights, each chosen before a match. These fighters provide Summons and Ambushes, performing Fatalities and Brutalities. The chosen Kameo Fighter also influences players' health.

Fatal Blows, returning from Mortal Kombat 11, are collaborative moves with Kameo Fighters when a player's health drops below 30%, featuring X-Ray effects. The Air Kombat combo system, seen in previous titles, makes a comeback.

For single-players, the game features Story Mode and traditional Towers Mode, with the addition of the seasonal Invasion mode. Invasion combines fighting with board games and role-playing elements, requiring players to complete challenges on the board for rewards. Each Invasion season lasts around six weeks, each with its own board and theme.

In multiplayer, players can enjoy Local mode for matches on the same console, Online mode against global opponents, and Tournament mode for hosting tournaments with unified rule sets.
