Nathan Millard Case

In late February, Nathan Millard disappeared while on a business trip. His body was discovered more than two weeks later wrapped in plastic and rugs. Derrick Perkins, a known drug dealer in the area, was subsequently arrested for illegally disposing of Millard's remains. Police believe that Millard died and Perkins transported the body in a friend's vehicle for several weeks before disposing of it and setting fire to the car.

Police are also on the lookout for two women who were reported with Millard on the night of his death. Tabbetha Barner is wanted for prostitution and failing to seek assistance, while Tiffany Ann Guidry is wanted for illegally disposing of human remains, prostitution, and failing to seek assistance.

Nathan Millard, who passed away under tragic circumstances, was in Baton Rouge at the time to scout a potential job for his construction company. He is survived by his wife, Amber, their 7-year-old daughter, as well as two teenage sons from a previous marriage and two teenage stepsons.

Nathan Millard cause of death

Authorities in Louisiana have concluded that Nathan Millard died from an accidental drug overdose, as there were no signs of trauma on his body. However, they allege that Derrick Perkins was responsible for dumping Millard's body in a lot along Scenic Highway.

According to newly released police documents, on the night of the incident, Millard declined assistance from a security guard at a Greyhound Bus station and instead told the guard that he was seeking "something to make him feel better." Millard had been cut off from Happy's Irish Pub for allegedly being intoxicated and had also expressed a desire to bring a woman back to his room.

Witnesses who were interviewed by the police reported that Millard met Perkins, who is known as "Stanka," several hours later when a man and a prostitute introduced them for the purpose of doing drugs. These same witnesses said that Millard suffered an overdose at a residence located off of Highland Road.

Perkins involvement in Nathan Millard's case

Last week, authorities arrested Derrick Perkins, 45, in connection with the case, initially charging him with property damage, access device fraud, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police suspect that Perkins wrapped Nathan Millard's body in plastic and put it in the trunk of his blue Toyota sedan, leaving it there for several days until the smell became too strong. On the day that the body was discovered, Perkins reportedly placed his phone in airplane mode in an attempt to conceal his whereabouts.

Surveillance footage showed Perkins' car in the vicinity where Millard's body was ultimately discovered on March 6th.

Despite the fact that Perkins' car was found burned to a crisp the following Monday, a K9 was still able to detect the scent of "human decomposition" in the trunk.

Millard had traveled to Baton Rouge to explore potential opportunities for his construction company. On the night of his disappearance, he attended an LSU basketball game and visited a pub with a client.

Perkins is facing a range of charges, including failing to seek assistance, damaging property, obstructing justice, using a vehicle unlawfully, and committing access device fraud.

Weird Calls to Millard wife

New search warrants have been issued in an attempt to obtain phone records for individuals who may be linked to the case. This comes after Nathan Millard's wife reported receiving two suspicious phone calls following her husband's body being discovered.

On March 15th, Amber Millard received a call from a Baton Rouge-based number that had attempted to contact Nathan's phone, which was later found on a sidewalk downtown. The caller, believed to be a woman, simply said "yea" before hanging up.

The following day, Amber received a call from a blocked number, which she answered. The caller, also believed to be a woman, claimed that Derrick Perkins and other unknown accomplices intentionally gave Nathan "bad drugs" that led to his death. The caller also alleged that Perkins initially disposed of Nathan's body in a different location, near a railroad track and dumpster, before moving it to the location where it was eventually discovered along Scenic Highway after learning of a reward being offered.

Perkins was linked to the case after attempting to use Nathan's debit card a few days after his disappearance. The new investigative documents suggest that Nathan's death may have been part of a scheme by a drug dealer who planned to find his body and claim the reward.
