In NHL 24, the goalie controls allow you to control the actions of the goaltender. Here are the basic goalie settings explained in simple terms:
- Move Goalie: You use the left stick to move the goalie around in the net.
- Challenge: Pressing the left stick or LB (L1 on PlayStation) makes the goalie come out of the net to challenge the opponent.
- Butterfly: Holding RT (R2 on PlayStation) makes the goalie go into the butterfly position, which is used to block low shots.
- Hug Post: You can make the goalie hug the left or right goal post by moving the left stick in that direction.
- INSTINCT: Pressing LT (L2 on PlayStation) activates the goalie's instinct to react quickly.
- Diving Save: To perform a diving save, press X (Square on PlayStation) and move the left stick in the direction you want to dive.
- Diving Poke Check: For a diving poke check, press X (Square on PlayStation) and push the left stick up.
- Spread V: Moving the right stick away from the puck helps the goalie spread their legs to block shots.
- Stack Pads: Press B (Circle on PlayStation) and move the left stick left or right to stack the goalie's leg pads.
- Butterfly Slides: Use the right stick to slide the goalie laterally to cover more of the net.
- Poke Check: Move the right stick up or press the right stick (R3) to perform a poke check.
- Cover Puck: Hold Y (Triangle on PlayStation) to cover the puck when it's near the goalie.
- Free Skate: Press A (X on PlayStation) to allow the goalie to skate freely outside the crease.
- Dump Puck: To get rid of the puck, move the right stick up.
- Pass Puck: Press RT (R2 on PlayStation) to pass the puck.
- Leave Puck for Teammate: Press LT (L2 on PlayStation) to leave the puck for one of your teammates.
