Then, on July 18, 2023, it was revealed that Toby Keith, a revered figure in country music, would be the first recipient of the Country Icon award.

Blake Shelton, another respected artist from Oklahoma, had the honor of presenting the award to Keith. Later, on September 8, 2023, it was announced that Wynonna Judd, also a country music legend, would be recognized with the inaugural Country Champion award.
